Hi,
if you have a Cummins diesel then it probably has a geardriven water pump. Dodge gas engines have a belt driven water pump, much cheaper. Check around for a re-man water pump if you have a Cummins installed. The prices vary enormously.

Good luck.

Water pump

You should be ok running it until the replacement arrives. If the radiator gets hot that indicates that he water pump is still circulating coolant. If you are really worried/curious put a socket on the belt tensioner pulley and remove the belt. Turn the pump pulley by hand. There should be very little resistance. Check for play in the bearing and any roughness or odd noises, although this is not always apparent without the tension of the drive belt on it. Reinstall the drive belt and wait until the dealership can replace the pump seal.

Where can i find a water pump pulley for a 1997dodge grand caravan

unfortunately, the best place to find pulleys on any car is going to be at the nearest vehicle make's dealership. most automotive stores can get them, but they're doing nothing more than ordering them from the dealerships most of the time. i work at a suzuki/mazda/nissan/honda/gm dealership and i daily visit places like napa, o'reilly's, advanced auto etc. i have never seen anyone but our manufacturer's warehouses be able to supply pulleys. if there are after market pulleys for dodge, i wouldn't know.

Take it to a different repair shop and have them check the water pump. If it is the water pump, contact the first mechanic and demand a refund of his labor charges. He should have known the car was still overheating by test driving it after he worked on it. If he won't cough up the money(and he won't), contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. If this was a dealership, file a complaint with the dealership and the factory regional representative. You may not have any luck recovering the charges, but you sure can let them and everyone else how crooked they are, whether it be dealership or private mechanic. Let me know if it was the water pump. Good l;uck.

How do I put fluid in automatic transmission?

if there is no dipstick on a transmission there is NO need to add fluid. This is called a sealed transmission some BMW have this type of tranny the oil is changed at service intervals that vary from different companies/make and model the average is 24,000-60,00 interval. the oil needs to be measured and pumped into transmission from the bottom of vehicle. I hope i answered your question. thanks for using FIX YA.

Nissan datsun pickup/ute 1990 dielsel fuel pump

You do have to line up the gears in front of pump as the pump is syncronised to the engine.Do not get this wrong as its a world of grief if you do.Sorry cant help with details but a haynes workshop manual can be invaluable if you intend to do any work yourself.
