My 1994 pontiac grand prix was running fine , i stopped at home and when i went to leave the car started but the stalled out!! I then tried to start it again and it barely turns over but will not start!
Not an expert by any means, but I had a similar problem.
Everything was fine until one morning (it was a bit chilly out in my defense) I used my remote starter to warm up the car before leaving.
I forgot I had used the remote and hit the brake to shift into drive. Engine stopped (obviously with no keys in it!). I thought I could just put the keys in and go, but ignition would not catch.
I've actually made that mistake a few times before, but that day, for the first time ever, it prevented the engine from starting for a good 2 hrs.
Really was no solution. I just let it sit and kept trying every 30m or so with both the key and remote starter. The remote starter finally got it going again and this time I followed the instructions (put key in and turned to "On" position).
Since then, it has started up as usual.
I took it back to the cadillac dealership. They evaluated the problem and told me that who ever put the remote starter on the car should be fired. Wires were not hooked up properly. I had them remove it from the car. And after that I have had no problems, Thanks for the help anyway.
I have the same problem. I've taken my car to the cadillac dealer twice, and they say they can't find anything wrong with it. I had an amp hooked up to my car in 2005 at best buy. They hooked it up some kind of way that the only way it turns on, is when I roll my windows down. I never got it fixed. But I didn't start having the problem where my car cuts off until 3 months ago. After the last time I had my car checked out and it stopped on me again, I tried to start it with the original key and I didn't get any type of reaction. Then I tried with my spare key, and it started right up. So I was thinking it was my key that was faulty. But now it's still cutting off with the spare key, so I don't think that's the problem anymore. Reading your story, I'm staritng to wonder if it's the same problem.
