Hi,
OBD II Fault Code

  • OBD II P0108
Fault Code Definition
The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor measures the rise and fall of the air pressure inside the Intake Manifold. This provides critical data needed for the Power Train Control Module (PCM) to control the Air Fuel Ratio, the Ignition Spark Timing, and many components of the Emissions Control Systems. The Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Sensor converts the Intake Manifold air pressure into a voltage that is high when the Intake Manifold air pressure is high and low when the Intake Manifold air pressure drops to a vacuum. The P0108 code indicates a high voltage input from the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor to the Power Train Control Module.
Symptoms
  • Check Engine Light will illuminate
  • In many cases, no abnormal symptoms may be noticed
  • In some cases, the engine may be hard starting and/or get poor fuel economy
  • In some cases, noticeably poor engine performance may occur
Common Problems That Trigger the P0108 Code
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is defective
  • Intake Manifold vacuum leaks
  • Faulty or corroded Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure wiring or connections
Common Misdiagnoses
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is replaced when the real cause is an Intake Manifold vacuum leak
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is replaced when the real cause is a stuck-open EGR Valve
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is replaced when the real problem is a defective Idle Air Control Motor, which causes a very low engine idle

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0108

Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor High Voltage

  • In unison with the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, the engine control module (ECM) regulates the flow of fuel and the ignition timing.
  • The MAP sensor which is metric pressure enables the ECM to make necessary adjustments for differing altitudes.
  • The output voltage of the MAP sensor changes with the change in the manifold pressure.
  • The intake manifold pressure created due to engine load (intake manifold vacuum) and the rpm changes is measured by the MAP sensor and transformed into voltage outputs.
  • The ECM notes the manifold pressure by keeping a vigil on the MAP sensor output voltage.
  • The MAP sensor directly receives a 5 volt-reference voltage sent to it by the ECM.
  • At idle, about 1.0 to 1.5 volts indicates a low-pressure (low voltage) output voltage.
  • At wide open throttle (WOT) about 4.5 to 4.8 volts indicates higher pressure (high voltage) output voltage.

Hoe to fix Chrysler 300M: 99 30m Chrysler have the codes po700,po734,po733,po122,po113,po108

codes PO700, PO733, PO734 are all transmission codes all have to do with inproper outputshaft speed could be a bad outut shaft sensor but most likely the transmission is slipping, and that is not good if the transmission is shipping you will need to replace it, but try chaning the fluid and filter and and see if that does not take care of the problem.

code PO122 is the TPS sensor, code PO108 is the MAP sensor the MAP sensor can set the TPS code but the TPS can not set the MAP code so i would start with the MAP sensor ..... code PO113 is the intake air temp. sensor check the wiring on the top of the engine to make suer there is not a bad spot in the harness if all looks good then replace the sensor, but the way all 3 sensors use a commoin ground circuit so check the wiring before you replace any of the sensors......good luck
