HARD STARTING PROBLEM - 1994 Chevrolet Beretta

  • vtboy1983 Aug 05, 2008

Excessive cranking of a warm engine after it has been sitting for an hour or so. Cranks fine in the morning when the engine is cold.

I have a similar problem. I have a hard time starting; the van takes maybe 3 to 4 times to start and then idles very low for a while. It stalls out at lights and stops because it can’t get enough gas. Sometimes I have to ride the brake and the gas simultaneously. I think it is related to the fuel filter or maybe the pump, any suggestions?

My ford falcon has problem starting after 1st being run and warmed up

Could be several things . Check injectors if leaking can cause flooding and hard starting after warm up. check cold starting unit not still on after warm up . A faulty temp censer can make hard starting . Leaking injectors can be checked by fuel pressure holding steady with engine stopped .

93 gmc jimmy hard starting

"Hard starting" is a very vague description of the problem. There are MANY things that can make an engine hard to start - ranging from a weak battery to a bad fuel pump, to worn-out spark plugs or a plain, worn-out engine...

The only "solution" I can offer at this point, would be to recommend doing some diagnostics to determine at least which system in your vehicle is the cause of the hard starting.

My 2004 trailblazer has been hard starting lately?

This problem can be caused by a defective electric fuel pump pressure check valve, when it fails air get into the fuel system after engine shut down and this causes hard starting, to confirm this is the problem buy a can of spray starting fluid and next time you have a hard start spray the starting fluid into the air intake of the engine, if it fires right off then you have an issue with the fuel system. Also have the engine control computer scanned for codes and check the ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor for proper value with alive data scanner.

Hard starting and dies at times while driving.

ignition coil pack it intermitten.

also check the crank sensor and the main crank pulley, this is where the engine gets its firing orders from
