How Do u r and r a shifter cable on a 1988 Honda Accord LX
Remove cable from transmission, follow cable behind engine, along exhaust pipe, then up through floor into center console.along the way you will find retainer clips (on both ends of cable) which hold the cables in place, and also underneath you will find a fastner which holds cable to bottom of floorboards and a panel with a rubber gasket in which the cable goes up into the console through. you must then remove center console to release the other end of cable.Once cable is loose go under car in the middle of the cable and pull out from floor then pull the other end out from engine compartment.
