Jeep 2008 Liberty. I have a normal starting key, i go into my car 2 hours after it was working fine, the dashboard lit up fine and the radio too. But the engine would not even budge. I dont think its the battery because i checked the voltage and its fine. The engine did not even turn. the power locks didnt work. Im assuming its a electrical problem. ? any ideas?

Something worth trying. The voltage on the battery being fine may not guarantee that it's making it to the other end.

I might try taking the battery clamps off and cleaning them and then make sure that they're put back on very securely.

It requires very little power for lights and radios to work, it takes enormous power to turn over an engine.

I hope this helps you.

2008 Jeep Liberty

Possible solution - This happened to me and my battery was dead in my key fob and also I needed an ignition switch because a piece on it was broken which therefore wouldn't turn to start the engine.

Our jeep liberty won't start. the battery will not turn over when we try to jump it. all lights, radio, inside lights turning lights work. The electric key will not lock it unless it is used manualy....

have a load test done on the original battery as it appears that you have a shorted cell that is draining all the power from the jump battery.

Dead battery

I have a recall notice for your Jeep. It states that the radio is not powering down correctly and that the radio should be replaced by the dealership.

Email me at [email protected] because it is too big to post here.

2008 Jeep Liberty-Dead battery issues w/ a new battery

Unit has a draw somewhere that needs to be addressed. I have found the auto starts sometimes can cause this. But if the draw is through the negative side it could be tough. You should take it to the dealer and have them perform a draw test on the entire vehicle.
