My trailblazer has the same problem. I disconnected the battery to remove the alternator. When I put everything back together, I had no airflow from the dash vents on test drive. Someone help please, I would hate for the dealer to point out my stupid mistake!!

You need part GM Part number 89018675 or ACDelco 15-73596. The Mode Selector Actuator. What happens is the part is a CHEAP part POORLY designed and when it goes to turn the flaps inside the HVAC unit its the plastic gear slips instead of turning the flap!!!

Just to forward you you might want a deal to install this art for you unless your good at fixing your own vehicle, because you need SMALL sockets and a lot of patience to get this part in!!!

The part is ALMOST directly above the steering shaft for your steering wheel, so theres a lot you got to remove before you will even see them!!!

I only recommend you to have a dealer put this part in for you, unless you have your own service manual!!

Because there is 5 of these darn things and if you pick the wrong one you will have to do it all over again!!!

3 on the Drivers side and 2 on the Passengers side!!

But replacing this part SHOULD solve all your problems!! AS it did for me and i was having the same issues as you have described!!

SOURCE: Dash vents will not blow air. Defroster and floor vents blow fine.

Is it a new vehicle? I had a new vehicle that had the same problem. Answer was that the holes weren't punched out of the vent.

Ac only blows from floor vent, does not blow through dash vent

You may need to pull the battery cable to clear the memory codes.
Otherwise, the controller could have failed or something with a blend door. When the controller "sees" cool air it commands the blend door to change air vents.

2000 Ford Taurus SEL ac/heat blows through floor and defrost vents only

There is no vacuum to the controls. Look for a vacuum hose that is no longer connected to the engine intake manifold and repair it.

Ac is blowing out of defrosterandnot panels in the dash. Air is cool cold air will blow out of rear seat panel/vent 1998 ford explored

The most common cause is a bad blend door actuator which controls air flow throughout the cabin. When air flow only flows from 1 section (either floor, vent, or defrost) it's an indication that the blend door actuator is either stuck or broken.

The airconditioner in my car works its cool through the floor vents and the vents on the dash but no air is coming through the main air vents ? the car is a vs berlina with climate control ?

I would say that the control unit isnt switching properly, from the mode button moving the vents air flow direction, best bet is to try and swap a mates one and see if the mode changes the airflow to the main vents,it may be the unit isnt allowing the switching,i think theyre vacuum controlled

Climate control system only blow air out defrost vent

there is a good chance that you blend air door is stuck closed over your heater core and therefore not allowing the heat to flow, also your door that opens and close your direction of flow from the floor ,das, vent and defrost.your going to have to remove the lower cowling of the dash on the passenger side analso some of the center dash to actually check to see if the cable, servo motors. are acuating the doors.the issue could be just a stuck door or a misaligned cable or that it came off. that falls under the mechanical side of probabilities. electrical would most likely be a faulty selector switch or a servo motor

No dashboard heat output

The climate control was poorly designed on these cars.

There is only heat on the floor and defrost settings, due to the layout of the ductwork.
