Where does the steering pump cooler go on a 2002 pontiac trans am 5.7 liter ws6?

The power steering pump has hoses that attach to the coolant pipe (silver pipe). The silver pipe is basically all coolant and inside that pipe has capillary tubes that has the power steering fluid flowing through it. It's basically an air to water power steering cooler. One hose should be coming from the power steering pump and the other should be coming from the rack.

I have an engine misfire in my 2005 Cadillac SRX, and the dealer wants to replace the power steering high pressure hose, ignition coil, and recommend power steering fluid service. Is the fluid servic

Transmission & Power Steering Fluids get changed
on all your vehicles, every 3 years, or they fail,
& cost a lot to fix,thousands

Not to be hurtful here but all your talking about I have
done on my wifes 2004 lincoln
That is normal wear on todays cars

Your just driving it out to the end until you have to
park it & do all that at one time

I do my own work & lay the cars up for a week or
more a year to do those things as they come up

1997 explorer power steering leak need diagram

the most likely culprit is the power steering box, there is a product available on eBay called leak fix that is designed for power steering systems, I used this on my 96 explorer that was leaking by the pitman arm from the steering box, that was 4 years ago & with 2 changes of fluid since it still hasn't leaked one drip

My 2004 deville shifts a little rough at different speeds. It seems to do it when the car is warm to hot.It does not leak.Would a transmission flush help the problem? It has 76000 miles.we bought it with...

You Change Trans & Power Steering Fluids every
30,000 miles on ALL Vehicles

I don't suggest flushing,some people do

If you want to chance having problems get
it flushed

You remove all the fluid it may just start to slip

You have to understand that fluid changes DO NOT FIX
A THING

The fluid removes heat & breaks down
That is why it is changed

I would assume you don't flush brake fluid every 2 years
Trans & Steering every 3 years,not over 30,000 miles
Spark Plugs at 60,000 miles

When you buy a used vehicle you lay it up for two weeks
& work on it,never drive it
All Preventative maintenance gets done,regardless
of what you were told about the vehicle

1994 cadillac deville is leaking power steering fluid onto the drivers side floorboard as fast as i can put it into the reservoir!

Hi,
The most likely cause of this is a leaking or severed hose or cracked power steering reservoir
WITH THE ENGINE OFF. I would get a good flashlight and locate the pump under the hood and closely examine the pump and trace the hoses from it.
I would go so far as to pull on the hoses to see if one is completely separated.
Something should show up.
I hope this helps.
Best,
Mark

2006 Altima 4 cyl 28 000k auto (18 000 m) city driving. dealer recommended changing transmission fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid?

Having owned a trans repair shop years ago, listen and take heed

You ALWAYS change Trans,Power Steering,EVERY THREE YEARS and
NEVER,EVER,EVER go more than 30,000 miles TOTAL,EVER,ON ANY
VEHICLES,or it is a death sentence

The BRAKE FLUID--2 years NEVER,EVER GO MORE THAN 2 Years

Power steering fluid leaks, rack replaced approx a year ago

May have a failure in the replaced rack. I would take it back to the shop that did the work for warranty. If you got a remanufactured rack it was re-built and may have had major problems that were not fixed with the rebuild.

Power steering fluid leaking through the rack and pinion on passenger side. How do I best cure the leakage?

If the leakage is coming from the bellows on tie rod the best fix is rack & pinion replacement. Rebuilt racks are often less expensive than new. Get 2-3 estimates before you commit.
