Check flywheel teeth not worn out destroying starter and check to see if you have shims that come with new starter are installed properly if you received some with the new starter

Can I put a 1998 chevy silverado motor in a 1981 ford 100?


I guess you could, but it won't be easy. I'm sure the transmission won't mate up without an adapter plate. You'll have to build a whole new engine mounting system. And you'll have to bring most of the wiring along with the ECM from the 1998 Chevy engine to make it run in the Ford. You'll have no gauges that work, because the Chevy gauges get their inputs from the ECM and your Ford gauges will have nothing to provide information.

Why after changing the starter in my 81 corvette does the blower motor and wipers not work? there is power to both


you should have two power wires coming off the starter one to the battery and one to the alternator make sure you hooked them both back up

If you have no overdrive at all, and virtually no third, then it's time for an overhaul. The 3-4 clutches have failed, a common problem in this trans since 1981. Yes, 1981. Your trans is a 4L60-E that is computer controlled. In 1981 it was called a THM700-R4, and was hydraulically controlled. The input clutch drum is basically the same as it was in 1981, and the 3-4 clutches are prone to failure, usually around 130,000 to 150,000 kms (75,000 to 90,000 miles).

Not to hard there is Two or three bolts. Also you have the power wire. Always start by unhooking ground cable from battery.

What wire go where on 1980 F 150 4.9 starter


I have provided an image that will assist you and it will connect like so;

1. Connection 1 should have the Pos. (+) battery cable and all of the wires with the large eyelet connectors from the wiring harness connected to it, except for the large cable that runs down to the starter.

2. Connection 2 should only have the large cable going down to the starter connected to it, and there should be no other wire connected there.

3. Connection 3 is the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid, and it is the wire with the small push on connector that is hot only when the key is in the "start" position, usually it is a red wire with a blue stripe, but that is not always the case.

4. Connection 4 is the "I" connection on the starter solenoid and it feeds current back into the ignition, and it is not used on a lot of vehicles after 1981, but if your vehicle has it it will be a small push on connector that will not have any power from it at all, and it will usually be a black wire with a white stripe, but that is not always so.

Change your air filter ,the engine want to breath if air filter is plugged it will try to get air from your crankcase

bottom gear go straight up top gear sets about 2oclock thers a small hole in the gear too line up with a hole in the head use a small drill bit too check this!!!!
