How do i fix the brake lights on my mercury sable. all the other lights work fine

Does your car have the `lamp out'indicator system? It's more complicated.
My manual shows fuse #28 , a 15 amp fuse powers the brake bulbs. Is this the one you changed?
A bulb can be out for a long time and you don't notice it,then the other burns out and you think they both went out at the same time, but they might not have, see?
So check the bulbs and make sure you got that brake switch installed correctly. don-ohio (:^)

Brakes go all the way to the floor

Don't know about the check engine light, but if brakes go all the way down, you either have a bad leak or the master cylinder has gone bad.
If the car has anti-lock brakes,it needs a mechanic to do the bleeding of the brakes the correct way. don-ohio (:^)

Shift lever will not move out of park. Engine is running, seat belt fastened, parking brake released, all doors hood and trunk closed, foot firmly on brake pedal. When the button on the side of the shifter...

you should hear a click from the solenoid when you apply the brakes. If your brake lights don't work, your shift lock release won't either. There is a bypass method for emergencies in your owner manual. Check fuse for brake lights. And switch on brake pedal

I can't get the !brake light on my 2000 mercury

First, check that your emergancy brake lever or foot pedal is pulled all the way up.
The next thing is probably either dirt on your anti-lock sensors at the wheels,or air getting into the line or low brake fluid in reservoir. don-ohio

2000 Mercury Sable Fuse diagram

Hello, to get the complete wiring schematic for 2000 Mercury Sable need to contact the dealership or auto electric companies that specialize in auto electrical systems.

Now, if don't know which fuse is which then look in your own manual or on inside of the lid for the fuse box. American auto manufactured do use relays for some circuits and where they are located on any automobile is the preference of auto makes.

You auto manual should have a diagram of the fuses and what each fuse represents. If not then purchase an auto repair manual of your specific auto. GB...stewbison

For 2000 Mercury Sable 3.0L EFI DOHC 6cyl the Flasher is located on front seating area, driver side, under dash, mounted in junction block.

My break lights aren't working

If all of your lights inside and out arent working, then its sounds like an electrical isuue. that cost as much as $1500 dollars. But i would start with checking the fuses in your relay box under the hood. That is usually where the lights fuse is at. Some cars have two fuse boxes and a relay box, one fuse box is inside the car, one is under the hood, and the relay box is under the hood. So i would check the relay box under the hood or fuse box if you can find one. granted your brother checked them all, it sounds to me like an obvious blown fuse... good luck
