2001 chrysler pt cruiser, loud noise during start up, (humming sound) will not turn well. The recall power sterring hose was replaced in 2005. I have put well over $2,000 of my own money into this car when the warranty I purchased didnt cover it. (which I spent almost $2,000 on the warranty) It looks like the belt is turning but not the pulley. I put power steering fluid in it and it came right out, however prior to that there was not a single leak

From your brief description, It sounds like you lost your ground connection. Check the Negative (black) terminal connector on the battery, and check where the cable connects to the chassis.
Even if I misunderstand your description, that should be a good place to start!
probably not sounds like either a dead or weak battery or bad connections on the battery posts. first take battery cables loose clean terminals and hook back up hopefully then it will start. or use jumper cables and see if it will jump start. if it jump starts then you no its not starter.if it doesnt jump stsrt then clean posts and cable ends and try again. hope this helps. best of luck
Sounds like the AC compressor is locked and won't turn when the AC clutch is activated. Suggest professional help for this problem (or don't use the AC at all!). Good luck!
HI" does this noise go away when you step on the clutch pedal and does this noise gets louder as you go faster, try turning the steering wheel a little see if noise goes away that would indicate bad wheel bearing
