Here is antoher set of instructions, both are correct.

    Things You'll Need:

    • Wrench set

    • Jack

    • Jack stands

    • Socket set

    • Ratchet

    1. Locate the negative battery cable on the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the retaining bolt from the cable end with a wrench and isolate the end from the battery to avoid shorts or accidental startup of the car will you are working.

    2. Place a jack under the front of the car and raise it high enough to work under. Position a set of jack stands under the frame rails to support the car. Remove the jack and set it aside for now. Locate the starter motor on the driver's side of the engine from under the car.

    3. Locate the two terminals on the back of the starter solenoid. The smaller one is the "S" terminal and the larger, the "B" terminal. Remove the nut from the "S" terminal with a socket and ratchet and then slide the wires off the terminal. Move to the "B" terminal and remove the nut using a socket and ratchet and then slide the single large wire off the terminal.

    4. Locate the mounting bolt and bracket at the rear of the starter as well as the two starter mounting bolts at the front of the starter. Remove the mounting bolt from the rear of the starter and then remove the two mounting bolts at the front of the starter with a socket and ratchet. Support the starter motor by hand and lower the starter down and out of the engine compartment. Remove the starter from under the car.

I have a 93 caddy deville 4.9 that wont start i have replaced the starter and when that didnt work i thought must be a bad vat switch so it was changed still no luck im getting 12 volts power to the...

The starter's mechanical 'relay' on a 90's caddy it attached to the starter, it is the solnoid and may be defective. Check your connections and harnesses for the smaller wires going to the solinoid. There probably is a standard electrical relay under the hood in the power distribution center, and it should be marked either in the owners manual or the top of the center lid itself. You can swap it out with another standard relay not needed like your ABS or horn relay to see of this is the problem.

Trunk lid will not close - either electronically

Once a close fails, the latch may be now in the closed position, preventing a second try.
So release it first.
You should see the latch open up, so that it can accept the locking pin once again.
Then try closing it again.
If you have pounded on it, it may be hard to get it to release now, so you may have to pry on it with a screwdriver.

The parking brake release is up under the dash near and above the drivers left foot. It should be easy to find because its used if the vacuum release doesnt work.
