I have an 06 dodge ram 1500 and installed the hi/lo HID kit and my low beams will not work when i turn on my truck they blink 4 times and wont come on. Meanwhile when the truck isnt started i can turn them on and they will work. High beam seems to be working properly just not low beam. What could be causing this problem?

Check what voltage is needed to make them work. Then check what voltage you have wired them up to with a voltmeter.

a possibility is the multifunction switch or the tipm being bad. check the wt/lg wire in the left headlamp assembly and the wt/tan wire in the right assembly for power

SOURCE: left low beam is out on my 2006 dodge ram 1500 4.7

I'd still vote for the bulb being bad. The high and low beams use two different filaments, so unless the bulb is physically broken, it is common for the low beam to be bad whilst the high beam is good.

That's why you see some people driving around with their high beams on -- they don't want to get stopped for a 'light out' citation..

When you take the bulb out to replace it, be sure to look at how it is mounted before removing. You don't want to accidently adjust your headling out of kilter.

good luck

SOURCE: Have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 i have high beams

on rare occasions I have seen both low beams burn out I would buy one new bulb and replace either one in the truck if the low beam works with the new bulb then replace the other one as well if the low beam still does not work then replace the headlight switch also check to see if the headlight switch recall was done on that particular truck or if it was under that recall, they had a problem with some of the ram trucks burning up headlight switches but I would check to see if yours might have been one of them there is a wiring upgrade that they will put in at the headlight switch that will cure that, like I said though check to be sure first yours might have not been one of them.

SOURCE: On my `06 Dodge Ram

You probably have a bad plug or a broken wire on the low beam of the left side. I would replace the plug for the bulb and run a wire from the low beam on the right side or , locate and bypass the bad section of wire going to the current plug if the plug is still good.

My high beam indicator stays on but dim and when I turn on high beams the indicator gets brighter but the lights don’t change from low to high on my 95 vw golf and I replaced my hid kit with a new kit with...

Try this: Unplug the connector from the bulbs to the relays and flip the connector over and plug it back into the relay. It will plug in both ways, but only one way is correct and will work both hi and lo beams.

How to install a HID kit in your car or truck

If you have seen those newer vehicles with the bright bluish headlights and want to install them on your car its a fairly simple installation and an awesome accessory to any vehicle here are the step by step instructions
1. remove your existing headlight bulb or if you have a seal beam headlight you have to buy an H4 housing specific to your vehicle
2. connect the hid ballast to its respective power source
3. connect the hib bulb to the igniters DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB GLASS
4. install the bulb into your stock or after-market light housing
5. mount the ballasts in a place under your hood where they wont heat up, like behind the housing
6. test the lights and make sure that they are both lit and solidly lit not "fluttering"

7.tape all connections lightly with electrical tape and close hood
NOTES *any bulbs that arent 6k bright white are 100% ILLEGAL

*a standard HID kit has only the low beam which is like in between hi and low

*if you want both beams get a BI-Xenon kit that has hi-low beams

No low beam headlights hi beam okay fuses 11, 16 okay relay hdlp lo/hid okay bulbs seem okay

Did you check low beam fuses for voltage, with headlamps on lo beam? Use a testlite to check for voltage. In the diagram you see the lo/hid relay, correct? I'm not saying the relay is faulty, you need to check voltage and ground. The bcm and dimmer switch are involved, I don't know if check for headlamp/lighting trouble codes will help? Don't replace anything unless your testing points in the direction.

HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING

It can be faulty headlight switch or issue with its wiring. Or its faulty head light fuse.

2006 Dodge Ram 3500 diesel 4x4.I want to install four KC Rally 800 HID lights on my truck. I would like all 4 lights to go off when I switch to low beam. The lights will be on relays and rocker switches...

I cant tell you off the top of my head, but the easiest way is as follows.

Turn on your low beams, with a test light or volt meter, find the wire that powers the low beams (it will lose power when you switch to high beam).
Once you have found that wire, wire the lights and relays as if the hot low beam wire is your "switch", it will supply the switch power source the 12v it needs to turn on the power to the lights.

Hope this helps ya out.
