Sounds as if you have a defective fuel pump, you should have 45psi while cranking and 40ish there after

You might try doing some trouble shooting. Check your local parts supply and see if they sell and inline spark plug/wire tester. Then see if you are getting spark when you crank the engine. If you are then its a fuel problem. You can post back with what you find out.

My 98 mustang has what seems to be good crank but wont start, it will start and run good if i spay starter fluid in it. this problem comes and gose from one day to the next. what do you thin?

if it runs when spraying starting fluid in it, then the most likely problem is no fuel getting to engine. check or replace fuel filter, check the fuel pump fuse and relay it may have blown. if not that see if fuel pump is working. to check pump--- have someone turn car to on, while you feel for vibration at fuel tank under car. a fuel pump only comes on for a few seconds to get the fuel to engine. but when started it runs continuously. have a good day !!

I have a 98 mustang V-6 when I turn it over it just cranks. I pushed the reset switch an im not sure where the fuel pump is to check that.

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank.Best way to check it is to pull the fuel lines off that are under the hood at the fuel rail going to the injectors and then checking if fuel sprays out when cranking the engine

Car ran fine one day, not it will crank but not

Your fuel system requires 35-45 PSI. If you don't have this pressure in the line then your fuel filter or fuel pump is at fault.

When i start my 94 mustang it chugs for about a minute then it is fine. i think its a sensor somewhere but im not sure

U may have a defective fuel pump check valve, if this is the case the system looses pressure after the engine is shut off and then causes this problem u are having. to check this u must hook up a fuel pressure test gauge the fuel pressure test port on the top of the engine, it looks like a metal tire valve, this gauge cost's around $20.00 and is well worth the money, after the gague is screwed onto the test port run the engine and record the fuel pressure reading, then shut the engine down, the pressure should remove close to the running reading, if it drops more than 3 PSI you have a problem and need to replace the fuel pump which is located inside the gas tank.
