Thanks so much for responding, but some of the 1996 models had sealed beams. Of course mine is one of those. I had to buy them at 25.99 each. Not lucky enough to get away with just bulbs.

Check the wiring on that light. Also check the bulb with a couple of wires to the battery, or swap the bulb left to right to make sure the new bulb is okay.
Most total headlight failures are caused by a bad component like a fuse, relay, or module. Wiring problems can also cause both headlights to stop working. High beam headlights don't work or low beams don't work. If just one bulb fails to work in either high beam mode or low beam mode, it may be the bulb. Check your manual to find your headlamp relay.
Military.comMost turn over within 1.5 sec. ... If you experience problems with other lights, it's usually just a matter of changing ... If a headlight doesn't work on Low beam but does work on High, you have to replace the whole sealed-beam unit or headlamp. ... Pull out the bulb assembly, remove the old bulb, and install the replacement.
The headlight on an 03 baja are a double element bulb for high an low beam. I replaced mine with 9007 bulb from auto parts store. Be careful to pay attention to bulb position, they can be installed up side down having the high beam as your low beam. I would shine the lights up against a wall or garage door and flip your high and low beams on and off to see how the shine.
if equipped with sealed beam lights, remove screws from trim panel surrounding headlights.remove 4 screws from headlight bezel [silver rectangle that retains bulb] unplug connector.do not remove adjustment screws. halogen bulbs may be reached from engine compartment, behind light assembly.
there are two headlight fuses in the engine compartment fusebox. one for each side. keep an eye on them. also, go ahead and change your bulbs (wether sealed beam or Halongen swap bulbs).
You should be able to replace just the headlight bulb itself, most cars haven't had sealed beam headlights since the '80s. Assuming that's what you mean by "seal beam". Is it the main beam/dip beam, the high beam, or is it a driving light/fog light (usually mounted down low in the bottom of the front bumper area)?
