Try using the key in the driver's door, then the passenger door. The factory alarm is set.

Could be a problem with a crank sensor, ignition coil, cap, ignitor, there are really to many things to list. you need to scan that code. once you know the code, you can start looking in the right circuit. Good luck

Suzuki wagon r+gl check engine light keeps flashing and wont start after battery change

the engine (there are more than one engine)
has a distributor.
"have spark at coil down to dizzy but no spark at plugs"
this can mean only 2 things.
1: spark wires are dead. all 4, kinda hard to believe huh?
2: the dizzy is way off time. so time the dizzy and now spark
lands on each wire term.
if not a dizzy engine, post exact version of engine and country.

99 mercury cougar wont crank no spark anti theft light flashing

a bad security system would restrict the ignition system from activating so the engine may be perfectly fine but until the security system give it the ok, its gonna sit. have someone take a look at the security system and see if they cant fix the system or deactivate it (what use is a security system if your car wont start right?)

Where is the ignition module located on a 1990 dodge van with a 318 motor

usually you wont have spark if you have a bad ignition module....how did you check for a good spark? And how did you check if it was getting gas? I'm just questioning your choice of words in your post because it doesnt make much sense to me, but I'm here to help.
Usually I just handle issues like this as a NO START issue and go from there. starter fluid in the throttle body......If it runs for a few seconds, we have a fuel problem. If not, I check for spark. If the car has spark plug wires, I use an old school timing light and put the clamp on all wires one at a time and check if there is signal at all plug wires while cranking the engine to start. If the timing light flashes, I pull spark plugs. sometimes one, sometimes more; each car may be different. If the timing light dont flash as I'm cranking I inspect the module or distributor or coil and go from there. If your car is running, You wont have a compression issue.
let us know how you tested for spark and fuel so we can get a better idea of what is going on. Thanks

I have a '78 thunderbird with a 351m clevland engine i changed out the distributer cap, put the sparkplugs in correct firing order and now it wont start it turns over but its not firing im thinkin

simple things first, did you put the rotor back in ? I would start by connecitng a timing light to one of the plug wires and have a friend turn the engine over and see if the light flashes. (I use a remote starter switch on fords but make sure the ****** is in park) If the light does not flash, connect the timing light to the coil wire. It should flash now. If it does, the plug wires might not be in the correct fireing order. if it does not , the problem should be under the cap if it was running before. if you dont have a timing light, lift the coil wire off of the cap and hold the conductor close to the cap, less than 1/4 inch. Have a friend crank the engine. You should see a blue spark. if you do, repeat with a spark plug wire. If you have spark, the wires are probably wrong. Be careful not to get shocked. It wont hurt you but wont feel good either. If you have no spark and everything is in order and the rotore is installed properly, disconnect the battery and remove the ignition box on the inner fender. Look at the bottom side. If it has an area that looks sandy (literally) replace it. This is common on the duraspark ignition systems.

1998 cavalier wont start no spark

If you have no spark try the ignition module, it controls the spark and if you don't have any and the coil is new its the only other option short of wiring or ecu!!

Wont start. i replaced fuel assembly unit...ran for a week and now it wont start!

When you say itwon't start I'm assuming the starter is turning the engine over but it won't fire. If this is the case then you need to check to see if you have fuel pressure and then check for spark at one of your spark plug cables. If either one of these are missing car won't start. If both ar present then perform a compression test on all cylinders and checkyour readings this will help to tell you if you have any internal problems. Also if you have fuel pressure and spark check your injector circuits by unplugging an injector connector and hooking up a noid light (availeable at any auto parts stor tool section) see if it flashes while cranking engine, if it's good it'll flash rather quickly. ENGINE MISFIRE TO THE POINT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. AN IT WILL START TO FLASH. AN WONT GO OUT UNTIL YOU TURN OFF THE CAR .60-65 IT WILL STOP, AS SOON AS THE CAR START TO SLOW DOWN.IT START ALL...

wait untill its dark outside, open your hood and start the engine. look around for white / blue or yellow flashes of light coming from your plug wires. most of the time the spark plug wires are worn out / degraded from heat , and you can see the small lightning flashes in the dark. if you see no light flashes ( shorts to ground) then you can have a cracked / faulty distributor , or bad spark plugs.

I have a 96 chev 1500 4x4 5.7l which wont start. I checked the coil wire for spark to ground but there is no spark. What do I do next?

hook a test light to battery voltage. and touch the white wire coming out of the coil, have someone spin it over if light flashes and no spark replace coil. If light dosen't flash replace ignition module.
