This is to completely refresh your brakes.
What you will need. Wrench to loosen bleeder valves Bleed Kit, or some clear tubing and a jar. Small board 1x4 Helper, as not easy to do yourself. BV = bleeder valve MC = master cylinder
1- Remove Master Cylinder Cover 2-**** out old fluid and wipe clean 3- Refill MC with new fluid. (always replace cover after doing this) and pump brakes 10-015 times, then top off MC with fluid. 4. Place board under brake peddle to stop it from going down to floor 5-Starting from furthest point (right rear, left rear, right front, left front) loosen bleeder valve but keep closed. 6-Attach tubing to bleeder valve, and put other end in jar half full of new brake fluid 7-Have helper push brake slowly and evenly until at board, and they should let you know they have stopped. 8-Open BV 1/4 turn. Old fluid and any air will go in jar. When it stops, close BV and have helper release brake. 9-Repeat several times until fluid is clear. ( MC will need topping up, otherwise air will get in) 10-Retighten BV, and repeat at all brake locations
Note Make sure MC is always topped up and BV closed when done. Always use recommended manufacturer fluids.

did you bleed it? there could be air in it and that causes a hydrolock in a sealed system. same with brakes.

Sounds like you have a faulty master cylinder or you have a leak somewhere in the brake system.

NZ Cavalier brake for few days then no brakes and so on

abs pump!!! did you pump the breaks when you were bleeding them? as a rule with abs you just apply the brake and D pump will supply enough pressure to bleed they recommend you do not pump!! them standard brakes yes you must pump to bleed.

96 pontiac sunfire

YOU HAVE A LEAKING MASTER OR SLAVE CLUTCH HYDRAULIC CYLINDER (AIR LEAKING INTO THE SYSTEM), SINCE THESE ARE ALWAYS REPLACED TOGETHER IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHICH IS THE PROBLEM CYLINDER.
