In some cases you have to put in more then five lbs higher then the rated tire value. thendrive the vehicle or relearn the sensors. once it clears the lightthen lower the pressure to the correct value. pressure should be specified in the drivers pillar on a sticker.

My ( ! ) light stays on

Hi there:
Is your TPMS Warning Light On? The Tire Pressure Monitor System monitors the inflation pressure of the tires on your vehicle. If the pressure inside any tire drops 25 percent or more below its recommended inflation pressure, the warning light comes on to alert you.

Should you stop driving and check your tires immediately? It would probably be wise to find a safe place to stop or pull over so you can check the tires. You may just have a low tire that has been slowly seeping air over a period of time. Or, you may have a tire that is going flat. The TPMS Warning Light only tells you the pressure is low in one of the tires, not how fast the tire is losing pressure.

Important: Check the pressure in ALL of your tires, not just the one that triggered the TPMS Warning Light. Why? Because you may have other tires that are also low, but not low enough to trigger the warning light.
If you discover that one or more tires are low, add air to bring them back up to the recommended inflation pressure for your vehicle. You can find this information on a decal which may be mounted in a door pillar, the glovebox, or in your owners manual (which you should carry in your glove box).

Tpms light on, dic indicated low tp fr, inflated to proper pressure, tpms stays on, dic wont update

TPMS - TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR WARNING LIGHT
NOTE: Tire pressure rises and falls depending on heat caused by vehicle's operation and the outside temperature. If outside temperature is low, the air inside the tire may cool, causing a lower tire inflation pressure. This may cause the low tire pressure warning light to illuminate.

When the tire pressure warning light comes on, immediately check the air pressure of all tires and adjust to the specified pressure. Make sure the warning light goes off. If the warning light stays on or flashes, there is a malfunction in the TPM system. See appropriate manufacturer service information.

Tyre pressure warning light showing when pressures are correct

Hi, the tire pressure monitor detects any changes in the tire inflation pressure. Therefore, it must initialize and store it in its memory if the tires or wheels have been replaced, re-inflated or the tires have been rotated. You can re-initialize the system by following these steps:

1. Check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (in the glove box) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.

3. Now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.

4. Initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.

What does an ! in a circle mean with ( ) around it

This (!) symbol is your TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) warning light.
The manual has this to say about it:
This system monitors tire pressure. if the low tire pressure warning light illuminates, check the tire pressure in all four tires. Adjust the low tire pressure to the recommended cold tire pressure shown on the Tire and Loading information label located in the driver's door opening. After tire pressures are adjusted, the vehicle will need to be driven at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h) to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light.

Low tire pressure indicator came on today. All tire are at right pressure. How to reset?

BMW low tire pressure sensors use the speed sensors at the wheels to detect a flat tire. If any one tire is much newer or older than the other three, the warning will trigger. Tire chains tend to set it off as well.
There should be a button on the console that has a pattern that looks like the low pressure warning light - the profile of a tire with an explanation point inside. After you start the engine but before moving, press and hold that button until the warning light in the instrument cluster illuminates yellow. Then drive normally. That should re-initialize the tire pressure warning system.

My child away at college, has a Rav4, 2008 with a warning light on that looks like "tire tread?" Just had the oil changed 2 weeks ago, so shouldn't have anything to do with that. Sound familiar?...

That symbol (tire tread) could mean a low tire pressure. The majority of vehicles today have the low tire pressure warning system, which indicates that one or more of the tires are below the minimum tire pressure. Have the tire pressure checked in each tire. As for turning the warning light off, some vehicles the light will go out after tires are inflated properly. Have them check the owner's manual for resetting warning light. Please inform me as to whether or not it was the tires...thanks.

Your tire pressure monitor needs to be reset whenever you change or rotate your tires...

1. check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure

2. turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (think the switch is in the glovebox, but not sure) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.

3. now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.

4. initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.
