you might have to have your transmission downloaded.you have to go to a kia dealer\'put it on a machine.if the code is out it will make your trans mission jerk.cost me $400 dollars.in my 2006 kia spectra ex
I would start by changing the trans filter and fluid, and go from there . it could be your overdrive acting up try to drive it in 3 and see if it happens, how many miles are on it ? and sometimes you can lightly apply brake and get o.d. to kick out not sure on yours if that works or not, because if you can get it to kick out then you can diagnoise if it is the culprit ! sounds like it though, at Car Quest Auto they sell additive that is supposed to take care of shuddering in o.d. but can't remember the name of it ...sorry
For Automatic Transmission the fluid needs to be changed around 75,000 miles, but check fluid levels a few times a year to make sure of no leaks the transmission dip stick is located toward the back right of the engine if you can't find it have your mechanic show you where it is at.
