This is usually a sign of a vacuum leak, if they took the intake off they probably had to take off more than 1 vacuum hose, make sure all the hoses on the intake are in good shape and connected tightly, a good way to find a vacuum leak is to take a can of brake cleaner and just spray the hoses (1 by 1 preferably) as you spray the hoses see if you notice the engine either idle higher or lower, if this happens while your spraying a hose this will be the hose with the leak

Toyota pickup sputters at low rpms and only when put in to gear

Its hard to say what you exactly mean by sputtering , but it could be the throttle body needs cleaning, or you could have an ignition problem in the plugs ,wires, or ignition coils. Also does it have a fuel filter that is changeable that was forgotten about? In other words ,It sounds as if you need a thorough tune up with all the goodies.

1992 toyota camry v6 le boggs down on acceleration

It sounds like you may have a vacuum leak. Your car should normally idle at about 700-750 RPM. You said that yours was at about 1000-1500, that is waaay to high. If you have a leak somewhere in the system the car will draw in extra air and it will want to idle much higher and will also be very erratic and hard to drive.

Truck stalls

if it is burning rich, there for it will be over fueling around low rpm i do belive, which will cause the engine to flood, im guessing after you have been low rpm then go for high rpms, it like hesitaes and takes abit of a cough then goes, if that is the case then it is overfueling.

there is a way to advance/****** the engine mixture, but id say for safe if you don't know what your doing to take it do a garage, and ask for it to be timed up with the timing strobe light :) which will stop the, over fuelling around low rpms.

1995 toyota pickup, surging at around 2000 rpms

Is the check engine light on?

A major cause of surging is either air leaks between the air flow meter and the engine intake manifold, or a bad or mis-adjusted throttle position sensor.

I would guess that you instaled non-Toyota plugs,The OEM plugs are >>>critical<<< to proper performance. As a Toyota Service Manager, I cannot stress that point enough.
