There is no real need to release the fuel system pressure to replace the fuel filter. All you need to do is take the filter off. The pressure in the line is not significant enough to do anything when the vehicle is not running. When you reinstall the new filter, you will want to turn your ingintion key all the way on without starting the vehicle at least 3-5 times to pressurize the system and feed fuel back into the new filter. If you do not do this the cranking it will take longer than usual, but it will not damage the engine or fuel delivery system. I hope that this information was helpful
Disconnect inertia switch and then start car. it will run a fews secondas and bleed off pressure. Look in owner namual for location of switch. Sometimes, you can just hit it with your hand to trip the switch off.
Look at your fuel rail going to injectors. There will be something visually similar to your a/c's high and low pressure test/charge points. It has a plunger the same as the valve stem in your tire does. If you depress that plunger the built up fuel pressure will shoot out of that point. Wear safety glasses/goggles and have something underneath to catch spray. This is the point technicians use to test overall fuel pressure to ensure fuel pump and fuel filter are providing enough pressure to system. Quick way to relieve pressure, just be safe and use common sense in doing so
SOURCE: fuel pressure release
Pull the fuel pump fuse and crank it over.Or once you crack the fuel line open it will release the pressure put a rag around it before you do that and you will be fine.

Just remove the gas tank cap.
SOURCE: where is the pressure release valve on the fuel
STANDING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR LOOKING AT THE ENGINE, THE VALVE IS TO THE LEFT OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP.
LOOSENING THE JAMB NUT ON ONE END OF THE FUEL FILTER SLOWLY AND PUTTING A RAG OVER THE FILTER WILL WORK TO.

if you open up the hood and find your fuel rail you should see a little cap just like what is on your tire valve stems. take the cap off and push the little valve in the center agian just like the valve stem on your tire. be vary carefull as fuel will spray out of this. that is how to depressurize the fuel system
