Voltage regulator. If it is bad, despite a new battery and alternator, the battery will constantly discharge, rather than charge as it is meant to do, the longer you drive the car.

SOURCE: cant find where the 80 amp fuse or fusible link is in my kia for the charging system or alternator

It should be located in the fuse box under the hood of the car. If you have the owners manual, it sould tell witch one it is.

there are no fusible links for the alternator. It is run by a mega fuse in the fuse panel underneath of the hood.

My 2001 audi seems to start up fine and but after

have your alternator tested it sounds like your battery is pushing out out the power to your engine which causes the battery to drain. if you can start the car again pull the negative battery cable if the car dies after you remove the cable then your alternator is shot.

Need radio code for 2001 mitsubishi galant battery died . replaced battery vin number is 4A3AA46G31E108241

I read on another site that if you get locked out, your radio will show OFF. All you need to do is keep your radio on for an hour. It will reset itself. Your car doe not need to be on. Not sure if this works, but it is worth a try and may save you $80!!

Alternater trouble Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2003

I have had the exact problem. I've changed altenator 3 times also and it has the same leak, but I've changed altenator an batterys over 2 year span. It just happend to me today after not driving it for 5 months. It's been in storage while I was away. Drive it fine for 2 days but today the radio kept shutting off and finally the car died right in the middle of the road. Bought a new battery because I had a warranty on last battery, but bought it just to get it home and in the driveway. Did you ever find out what was wrong with it?

2001 Xterra - Replaced fuel pump twice and is still not running.

I am no expert, but I just had a similar problem. The car would shake and buck when accelerating. It finally just died and would not start. After sitting for some time, the car would start and run a while, then do the same thing. I thought fuel pump. The dealer diagnosed distributor. After replacing, the car is running perfect. Something to think about. Good luck.
