Changing a clutch in 89 saab 900s no turbo

I am trying to find information on how to change out a clutch system in an 89 saab 900s no turbo email is [email protected]
thank you very much

    Saab 9000cd 2.0 16v turbo

Clutch is in need of replacement and I am looking to change this. Trouble is that there seems to be little or no information on how to go about this readily available. I am taking it slowly and taking photo's as I go. So far it has been a real ***** of a job. I didn't realise how much extra has to be removed from the engine bay before you are able to start even looking or thinking about tackling the removal of the g/box.

So if you have a detailed list of what has to be done to remove the said g/box, please leave a link or add it here. Cheers for any help, in the meantime I shall continue with this project.

Just a backyard D.I.Y person who likes to work on different cars.

Hi, i have a mist fire cylinder #2 on the tester code. i change all 4 plugs but it's only run on 3. my car is a saab 900s 2.0l turbo manual 1997 with 215000 km

Check for compression on the cylinder that is misfiring. If compression is good 100lbs or better than see if the injector is pulsing( you need a noid light for this). It could also be the spark so check and see if you have spark.

Where is the thermostat in a 900s oh. 97 saab 900S Well my car was overheating and I notice in this model car if you need your oil changed it will overheat. So there is oil and all my fluids are full...

Oil change interval has nothing to do with operating temperature. If your coolant is full, feel the upper radiator hose, when the vehicle is up to temp. if cool , thermostat is back from that hose,

Look for air bleeds, and read owners manual, some cars have coolant bleeds. Also, heater on high when filling coolant or risk bubbles...

My thought is that your fans may not be kicking in. They should cycle on and keep temp low enough. test them.

5 speed manual transmission. reverse will not engage

I had the same problem. A spring in the gear change selector had broken making it impossible to get into reverse and very difficult into first to fifth. Simple repair. Might be similar to your problem

Radio code for 1997 saab 900s

I'm afraid if you don't have the code, you will have to take it to a local dealer or specialist radio store to have it re-coded.

Fortunately, it's not expensive.

Replacement thermostat

Here is an illustrated tutorial for the 2.0 liter turbo. It is essentially the same for the naturally aspirated 900S: http://bellsouthpwp.net/m/a/mattiaso/WebPages/Auto/therm.htm

SAAB 900 s 1997

you should check your fuel pressure and be sure it is within spec, is this a 2.0T or a 2.3 non turbo and also this is fuel injected correct? same as the U.S.A. 97 saab 900s? if it is a 2.0 with direct ignition try changing out the DI cassette with a friend or junkyard unit to see if that solves it -Jeff also please rate
