SOURCE: How do I change the fuel pump on a 2000 Acura TL?

hi, when you turn the ignition on do you hear the fuel pump start up if you do then the pump is fine if how ever you hear nothing then the chances are its going to either be the fuel pump or fuel pump relay, if you have a look in your fuse box you should be able to find the fuel pump relay if you cant locate it then its best you get a manual to show you the relays location, you can then put a finger on the relay and when you turn the ignition on you should feel a little click coming from the relay if you hear this then the pump needs replacing but if you hear or feel nothing then the chances are the relay needs replacing.

you can also check if the pump is working by removing the fuel feed hose from the injector fuel rail then once this is removed you put a tub under it then turn the ignition on if you have fuel shooting out then you know the fuel pump and relay are ok and you need to start thinking of some other problem such as ecu etc,

see what you find then get back to me and ill try and assist you further ok

SOURCE: How do I change a fuel pump on a 2000 Acura TL?

You either have igniton issue or a fuel issue. Both can be caused by several reasons. If you want to diagnose this yourself and you have the tools and know how I recommend going to mitchell1diy and paying the ten bucks for the info. If you don't have the tools and know how then noone is going to be able to give you an apsolute on what exactly is the problem without hands on testing but my first choice is for a fuel issue fuel pump relay and or fuse and crankshaft position sensor or ignition module for an ignition issue or ign or pcm fuse if applicable.
This is providing you don't have a security lockout activated. Your best bet is to get any codes stored first in order to proceed.

HAVE A 96 ACURA TL 2.5 , WAS RUNNING FINE NOW IT HARDER TO START AND RUNS ONLY FOR MINUTES WHEN YOU PUSH THE GAS IT TURNS OFF. HOW CAN i TELL IF ITS THE FUEL PUMP OR RELAY SWITCH? PLEASE HELP

You will have to have a fuel pressure test done on the vehicle ,but it is either the fuel filter,or the fuel pump witch has gone out,it is not a relay,or fuse,or the pump would not work at all.Replace the fuel filter and see if the engine performs correctly .If the fuel filter helps, but the engine still runs poorly, replace the fuel pump,if the fuel filter went to long, being restricted,it will wear out the fuel pump.

2000 acura tl wont start. tries to start but just

You definitly have a timing problem. I dont think its a fuel problem due to the age of your car. Its about past due for a timing belt/chain replacement.

Started up my acura tl 2000 and started to hear knocking and shut off

Check oil level and oil pump. Oil pump light should turn off after a few seconds after start up. If light stays on for more then 3 second shut off and do not drive or run motor.

My acura will not start....it is not battery or fuses

Make sure yu can hear your fuel pump run when you first turn on your key. If not check fuel pump fuse and relay for power. If your relay is working and your fuses are good it is most probably your fuel pump or fuel filter, the fuel filter is not expensive. If you can't hear it run and everythinng else checks out it is your pump! i hope this helps Merry christmas!
