Transmission wont shift into 2nd was spitting 10 different codes. went to dealer, was told needed new computer. they installed new computer did not help. i believe it is a wiring problem. i also installed all new solenoids in valve body, still not working. went to transmission shop could not find problem help!!!
Sounds stupid, but try replacing the ingition seitvk, I had same problem with my 97 Jimmy, did everything you did befor replacing the ignition harness. bad wires in ignition switch sends low voltage to trans harness

I had this same condition with mine while it was under the factory warranty. The dealer replaced the 3-4 shift solenoid in the transmissions valve body. After the repair, the transmission shifted great. Hopefully this helps you. Good luck.
Speed sensor will cayse your truck to act up it would let mine shift out of 1st gear I say replace the speed sensor in the transmission before you change anything else
Check your transmission fluid, if it is low, the transmission cannot shift into the correct gear from lack of hydraulic pressure. Be sure to check it while the truck is running.
If it is full, you may need to change the fluid and filter; over time the fluid will break down and trash the filter leading to low pressure problems which is why your truck fails to shift any more than 2nd.
Another problem may be that the torque converter is failing to lock yet again from lack of hydraulic pressure or its just worn out.
Your problem likely resides with the hydraulic valve that operates the band for second gear, or lack of hydraulic pressure in the transmission. If the actuator in the transmission that operates second gear is getting sticky, then it will cause this. A filter change and flush may help, but it's likely time to start looking for someone to tear down your transmission, or replace it.
Code 0753 means Transmission 3-4 shift solenoid or transmission relay circuit problem. The PCM (engine computer) is seeing an incorrect input electrically for the gear or speed it should be seeing. You will need to find a qualified transmission shop to diagnose the problem. Possible causes for the trouble code start with worn/dirty fluid, electrical repairs & transmission overhaul.
try having dealer update pcm. Does i have any codes coming up now?
