Sounds like two codes, 4 and 40 or miscount. No 440 except in dodge police interceptors.
Remember to reset your computer with key off and test jumper removed and disconnect battery for a few seconds. Then reconnect battery, sit in car, put right foot on brake pedal and start engine without touching gas. See if you get a cel. If you do, insert test plug into harness and read codes.

How did you read that code on your car? A 92 Accord is supposed to give you pre-OBD honda codes, which are all below 100. Please check the code again and re-post it.

Engine light blinks on and off when rpm goes over 2 or accelerated past 40mph

I would suggest getting the engine codes read. With an intermittent problem like this there may not be any codes showing when it's checked but there's a chance that it will show what the problem is. My initial thought is that you may have a misfire caused by worn or fouled spark plugs. Often times when your spark plugs start to go bad they'll misfire when put under stress like higher rpms.

1996 sonoma 440

You should be getting a code when the CEL comes on. You need to get a code reader to see what code it projects. This will give you a starting point to research the problem. Keep in mind the code may reference a cylinder misfire, but that does not necessarily mean it is a bad plug. Many items come into play here. There are lots of sensors that work together and when one goes out it causes other sensors to throw codes.

Camry 2002 Engine light comes on exactly at half

I'm pretty sure 440 is an evaporation malfunction code. The cheapest cause is usually the fuel cap. However, there are evap solenoids that go bad over time. I believe there are three of them at around $50.00 each. Also check the connections where they plug in as they may have become loose or corroded.
