If you have a 5.7 motor, you should use 5qts of oil... then check the level again after you crank it for a few secs. or after the oil light goes off, and the oil pressure guage looks good. Then add more if needed.. Now the grade may vary depending on your mileage..If you or under 130k. its ok to use 10w 30, or 10w 40... But if you are over 150k, then you may want to go a little heavier like 20w 50, but with either one of those you should be fine...Goodluck...
it sounds like the speed sensor is faulty, but you should have it checked in case it is an output or input sensor too.whats happening is, since the computer has no eyes it totaly depends on sensors to know what is happening,if it sees no speed it won't up shift the transmission because it thinks your sitting still.
long shot when message says guages and the vehicle shuts down it may be going into protection mode i would check fluids on the four wheel drive units like isaid longshot hope this helps
This is a very common problem on 1998 dodge caravan, voyager, t and County. You have a cracked circuit board in your instrument cluster. It is a dealer item. You can remove your cluster and install the circuit board yourself to save money but after the install you will have to take the vehicle back to the dealer to have it calibrated before the tach and the speedometer will work.
You need to try and jump start the vehicle and see if it will start. It sounds like your battery is bad to me. The interior lights are not a good indication of battery conditon, because a starter can pull somewhere between 30-50 amps draw from the battery, where the interior lights may draw 2-3 amps.
Also check your battery terminals for condition. Baking soda and water solution will clean off corrosion, followed by a terminal cleaner from an auto parts store. I would start there. Let me know if that helps.
are you sure it is a miss and not a shutter or transmission kicking in and out?possible cause could be tps sensor losing signal at this spot is check engine light coming on?
