A read out of stop engine comes on on my odometer reading

This a warning that you may have low oil pressure or an overheating condition. Are any of the gauges in the instrument cluster reading out of ordinary position? Is the Check Engine light on?

Dash gas gauge stops showing proper gas level once it hits half a tank. Then gauge will fluctuate between empty (light will come on), full and anywhere in between but seems fine from full tank to half

If the trouble with the gauge started after you worked on it then you likely damaged or created a restriction to the movement of the sending unit. You will have to remove the tank and double-check your work.

All of a sudden all dash gauges went to 0 and the battery light came on and the power windows stopped working and the airbag light came on and a warning light that said "check charging system"

your alternator is probably buggered. check the voltage charge rate across the battery when the cars running expect 13.3 - 15 volts max. any less possibly replace alternator.

Gauges work fine when engine's started, then oil gauge falls below zero and warning light comes on saying "Check gauges," so I check the oil and transmission fluid levels and these are fine but...

start by checking the ground strap to the engine, and engine to body. The oil pressure sender unit may be bad. You may have to hook up an oil pressure gauge to the oil pressure sender port to verify proper oil pressure. Senders are cheap- I would just replace it and go from there.

2004 Doge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi 190K mile had oil pressure gauge drop to ZERO and check gauges light come on and engine shut down.. Check oil 1 guart low, add oil. let cool. crank up, good gauges drove home 45...

If the valve lifters are quiet you most likely have oil pressure even with gauge showing "0".Sounds like the oil pressure switch going bad.I would try that first.

Fuel Guage problem

Most of the time the gauge unit in the tank goes bad but turning the key on and off won't make any difference. Near the tank there is a multi wire electrical connector, With it unplugged and the key on probing the wires to the front of the truck with a test light one of the wires will light in a slow blinking, This is the gas gauge. with the light blinking the gauge should read something. un plugged should read empty and cross the light to ground it should read full. If the light doesnt come on your on the way back to the dash the wire could be in troble anywhere. repairs for other things are ussally the cause. If the test light check worked then the sending unit in the tank is bad and it will need to be replaced. Repairing them doesn't seem to stay fixed. A gas theif may have run into it with a hose and they can't take much banging around. The fuel gage and fuses are next. The temperture gauge works on the same power if it works OK the power is good. Then its the gage or the wire the is a voltage limiter card in a slot next to the gage in the cluster . The dealer can order a new one when you call them with the VIN and tell them you want the fuel gauge limiter module. If you have the skills to remove the cluster and see the module 1 in. X 2 in. flat electrical card. It has a part # on it and the dealer can verify that your looking at the right part. the gages seldom fail unless their submerised in water. Har driving can sometines loosen the connections to the cluster and redoing them and turning it on again, may correct thr problem. do this with the card and the gage too before you but anything, check the wire from the gage module maks it all the way to the gas tank with a jumper wire and a test light as the wire being broken somethere is most common.
