My 2008 Ford Escape has power. Lights work, wipers, everything works that has power but when I try to turn the key to start it nothing happens. I mean I don't even hear a clicking noise

Ignition switch module. If you have to push the key in hard and turn it to start, then this is your problem. It will only get worse.

If your FEH has been sitting for a long time, this might be the answer. The Escape Hybrid will not start when the high-voltage hybrid battery is depleted (which happened to me when we went on a long vacation). It's a surprisingly simple fix:
1. Make sure your under-hood 12 volt battery is fully charged. If it isn't, either put a battery charger on it and fully charge it or you can put on jumper cables from another car if you in a hurry.
2. Pop out the plastic triangle panel on the drivers side dashboard (you can see it when you open the driver's door). Underneath is a button with a battery logo on it.
3. With the ignition off and key out of the ignition, press this button until the yellow LED light glows.
4. Wait 8 minutes. I set a timer on my phone for this. What is happening at this time is the hybrid battery is pulling juice from the under-hood battery to give it a little bit of power - that is why the under-hood battery needs to be fully charged or jumped if low.
5. After the 8 minute wait, the yellow LED will begin to flash - don't do anything until it starts flashing. Within 2 minutes, try and start the engine. If all goes well it should start.
6. Drive or run the car for awhile to allow the engine to charge up the hybrid battery.
If the vehicle doesn't start, you can follow these steps one more time to give it another boost.

Check the relays and fuses in the Power Distribution box under the hood. If all are good check the Alarm circuit ignition kill switch. If you didn't get the Alarm built into the vehicle but had it installed after you bought it remove the fuse from the Alarm power line to disable the kill switch. I did have this problem once and it turned out to be the battery on mine, a 2005 with Alarm built in. Unless you have the Hybrid version you could get in 2008 the vehicles are basically the same.

Vehicle will start with remote but not with key. the theft light flashes with key

Try locking and unlocking the doors with the key fob to see if it corrects the problem. You can also try using the key and locking and unlocking the drivers door only

Replaced battery on my 2006 Ford Escape. Still won't start but everything else works

Figure by everything else you mean the radio, lights, etc? Is the engine turning over? What happens when the key is fully engaged? If the engine does not turn over the first place to look would be your fuses. Ensure that none look to be burnt or blown. If so replace and try again. If fuses look good Next step would be to ensure starter connection is good and starter is turning over.If the starter is not turning over then I would focus on it.Hope this helps.

I have a 2009 Ford Escape that intermittently will not start. I bought it used from the dealer for my daughter to drive to school which is a couple of miles from home. This is what happens. I put the key...

Believe it or not I have found that one key will start my 2009 Ford escape and the other will not-even after replacing the battery in the key. I though it was a dead battery or possibly the starter but it is the key. I haven't figured out how to get the key repaired. Thank God I had a spare one!
