Hi
could be a few things, firstly the fuse for the sunroof, secondly some have a small relay next to the motor near the sunroof. if the switch for the sunroof is on the roof pop it out of the trim or unscre it if it is fixed with screws, check the wiring looks right if still wont close then simply unplug the wires off the back of the switch, tel me how many wires you have and the colours, you can attach 2 toghether and this will close the sunroof if the switch is the part that has failed, Always check fuses first!
If your stuck still get back to me for more info

Dan

The sunroof
Hi Dan, \r\nI didn't get to finish my responds to the 2003 Outlander sunroof problem.
After noticing the problem, I tried to open up the roof all the open, and when the roof gets to the back position, a loud clicking noise is heared. When I tried to colse the roof. I have to help pull the roof closed. then I noticed that the roof was closing uneven. I can get the roof all the edge of the opening (the sunroof is in tilled position). But I cant get the sunroof to go down and close up....
your help is greatly appreciated.
Hi
it sounds like the cable that pulls the roof shut via the motor has either tanglaed up or became loose and not pulling all the way, it can be a tricky job as you have to remove the roof liner to get a good look at it, in most cases there is a small plastic guide for the metal cable to run through, they often snap and then the cable will jump out of position and loose its tautness. if you can get the roof liner out you will be able to see right away what the problem is.
Hope this helps
Regards
Dan

SOURCE: Sholud I purchase a mitsubishi outlander 2003 with 103,291 miles on it for $8495
I have 150,000 miles, no problems. I think a front CV or bearing in in need of replacement. I have replaced the front brakes and rotors. Great on the highway.. 20MPG on the freeway..
