Hi, my battery cable came loose and had to tighten it but in so doing the radio on my Renault 4 stopped working? Help?

This can happen due to the radio thinks it's being stolen after the battery cables have been disconnected. You're going to need the security code to enter into the radio to get it to work again.

please someone give me a unlock code for ford 6000ne car radio.YS4F-18C815-AD. serial M178227

It is only available at a Ford Dealership...Give them your VIN Number & they will give you the code...There is a charge for this service...Now, if you lost battery because you changed or disconnected battery you can avoid this happening in the future...Take a 9 volt battery...Remove the snap top from an old smoke detector...Solder the + lead to positive of cigar lighter plug and - lead to negative of cigar lighter plug...snap on 9 volt battery and plug into lighter BEFORE disconnecting car battery...The 9 volt battery will hold radio up while car battery is disconnected...saailer

what are radio codes?

  • It an electronic security code for the radio that avoids radios being stolen from cars because then they will not work once power to them is disconnected due to either their removal, disconnection of the car battery or a flat car battery.
  • Once the radio has lost it's power source it cannot be operated until power is reconnected and the code is punched into the radio using the radio controls. The code for each radio is different and is supplied with the car when new. If you do not have the code you need to contact the service department of the new car dealer that sells that brand of car who will likely charge you a fee to look it up for you if the records are still held.
