2011 Lexus ES350. Trying to locate the crankshaft position sensor. Help please!

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

It should be the same as the IS350. Many of the search answers are showing Camshaft as opposed to Crankshaft.

2008 Lexus ES 350 low tire pressure warning light

1) go to a gas station with an air pump. Unless u have an inflator/compressor at home with the tireattachment

2) lower all 5 air pressures including the spare in the trunk to maybe about 28 PSI

3) now reset the TPMS (on the 07 there is a button to "calibrate" the TPMS and it is located under the dash. I presume it is the same on the 08.)

4) now bring the pressue back up to 30/32 or whatever it says on the door area

If this doesn't work, it is possible u have a defective TPMS
but my bet right now would be that someone "calibrated" the TPMS to the current tire pressure so the light is constantly on. It happened to me before when my daughter was messing around and hit that button.

Where is the traction control button on my 2008 Lexus ES 350 located. No manual available !!

There is no asstton* on the 2008 ES350 to switch off the traction control (( pain in the *** when it snows+slippery )).

From forums online, and I\'ve personally tested/used this...

Keep the hand brake on (( its near the left leg )) when u switch on the car... And in the next few seconds, hit and release the brake twice, then
keeping your leg on the brake pedal, release the hand brake, and put it on again (( twice, your right leg on the brake all this while )), and then when the hand brake is on, hit and release the brake twice...

You will need to do this only immediately after the car starts, and it needs to be done in under 30 seconds (( from forums, never needed more than 10 seconds to do the whole thing ))..

They do not recommend it cause apparently, the torque generated can cause the wheels to spin so much that it causes tires to burn out soon... Good luck!

Bluetooth problem

Turn on your NAV screen and go into the info main menu in the Nav system. If no NAV refer to the drivers handbook, since you will sinc by using the voice command buttons on the steering wheel and the car will offer you prompts.
Click on telephone, settings, Bluetooth, ADD PHONE.
Then go into the menu for the Curve, tools , add devices, enable handsfree, search new device are the icons you need. You will need to authorize the Curve to accept a new device by entering a 4 digit pin code, which will show on the car`s screen. Once completed, the car will acknowledge the Curve in it`s screen

Transmission flare

I'm thinking of buying a 2008 ES 350 and have read the transmission flare discussions on different websites. I wouldn't want to venture a guess as to what the chance is of getting a new ES 350 with a flare problem: 0.1%, 1%, 10%, 50%? If the ES 350 has a flare problem, what is the chance of it being a severe problem vs. a minor nuisance: 0.01%, 1%, 10%, 90%? I've read about other problems afflicting the ES 350 such as engine knocks, interior rattling noises, and wind noise. I'm sure the ES 350 has some minor problems too but those are the major ones I can recall. The easy answer for the potential buyer is to cross off Lexus from the list. Why take the chance? The ES 350 was easily my #1 choice in terms of features and value. I was attracted to the Lexus brand because my impression was that Toyota and Honda generally make the highest-quality under-$40K cars in the world. What would make more sense than buying from Toyota's "luxury" division? Car magazine journalists regularly write about "legendary Lexus quality." That leads to a contradiction: Why does Toyota have such a stellar quality reputation even though it has had ongoing FWD transaxle problems since 1999? Why can't Toyota figure this out? Shouldn't Toyota thoroughly test pre-production models instead of making its customers responsible for quality assurance? Replaced transmissions, buybacks, amazing. It's hard to figure out the precise truth and a manufacturer is probably going to avoid transparency in this kind of situation, so I think I should move on to other makes and models. Any suggestions for FWD alternatives to the 2008 ES 350?
