94 Mustang GT starts great and runs good, dies after running 10 min like someone just turned off the ignition. I have noticed when it does this the fuel pump continues to run. If you cycle the key a bunch of times untill you hear the pump prime then stop then the car will start again but as soon as its ran for a few minutes it will die again and you can hear the fuel pump running constantly once again,

Have you changed the fuel filter yet? They do clog up. That or you may have trash in your tank, and the screen is clogged. Hopefully its the fuel filter. The pump screen is located in the tank, and that means dropping the tank. hope this helps

Nope it was not the fuel filter, it's still doing it.

Are you familiar with the fuel return line? Disconnect the line and put a small gas can there. Start the car, and see how much fuel is going back to the tank. The pump may be going out. This will tell you if the car is getting a steady supply of fuel. If it is, we will try a couple of different things. Try this, and see if it helps.

Start great runs 10 min. Dies will not start again

It sounds like a clogged fuel filter. Can you tell me about the vehicles history? The more information the better. When was the last tune-up. Were there any resent repairs performed? Have you done any tests? Like a fuel line pressure test? anything small that you may have noticed while looking over the engine and/or the rest of the car? I hope this helps, Please let me know if you have more details or questions.

This sounds like the ignition control module, when it heats up it dies, remove it and have it tested at an autoparts store, this is where i would start.heres a few picture to show you where its located, its on the side of the distributor, hope this helps.johnjohn2_47.jpgjohnjohn2_48.jpg

Engine dies

I had the same problem with my 94 chevy 6.5 diesel, and spent alot of money trying things that people told me to try.I wound up taking it to the dealer and they told me it was the injection pump. They put one in it and that fixed it.It has run great for over a year and a half. This set me back about $4000.00!
