2004 Silverado A/C dual control problem

I have a 2004 Silverado crew cab with shortbed. It also has the dual control option for the passenger and driver. The problem is with the A/C - the driver side is cool while the passenger side blows hot air. What do I need to do to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Same model, same problem. Unless the passenger control slide is all the way down, it blows warm air. When all the way down, it blows cool air, but not quite as cold as drivers side.

same problem. Turn both sides down if on heat and have patience. It will self correct.

Air is cold on driver side...hot air no matter what the setting for the passenger side. Really leaning towards it not being a ducting issue, but perhaps a bad temp. switch? Can't think of much else it could really be...anyone with more insight; would be good feedback!! Thanks!!

Mine does the same thing, A/C works fine when you turn it on and drive down the road. Starts blowing hot air all of a sudden, not just outside air, but heated air out of the driver's side vents. I tried replacing the A/C control unit, then purging and recharging and neither solved the issue. Anyone figure this out?

Hi,
May or may not help... I've had ongoing issues with my heater/ac, where it's like a vapor lock or something, sometimes the selected vent etc. doesn't work right, etc., like the vacuum control is f'd up.
I topped off my coolant, and things cleared up. Air in the coolant lines???
Hope this is a cheap fix for you.
Don G.

I have a 2004 Silverado Crew Cab, the temperature on the drivers side air vents comes out HOT, all the time, while the passengers side can be controlled by the temperature control lever. If I push the A/C...

I think you will find that the mechanical control which changes the air flow from cold-hot-aircon has come off. I'm not familiar with your particular vehicle but usually the dash lever control is connected to a wire or lever to each air duct. If one of these is not connected then the duct will stay in the position where it was at when the control wire. lever came off. A good place to start.

My 2004 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab dual Climate control appears to be malfunctioning. The passenger side is blowing hot air with the controls set on AC mode ( 67 Deg ) and the Driver side working...

you may need to have the controller re-calibrated. There is a TSB at the GM dealerships on this. What is happening is the the blend door control for the pass side has OVER-travelled and is stuck in a default position. You can try to pull the Blue fuse under your hood for the HVAC, for about 5-10 minutes and put it back in. (with the engine off) Then restart the truck and turn the Climate control back on, and push and hold the Auto button for 4-5 seconds
