At cranking the oil pressure has to be approx 5 mPa before they start to work electrically also, oil pressure at rail varies from 4 to 28 mPa. on Tech2 scanner in data list rail oil pressure should be close to desired and when engine not running sensor should read 0 - 0.2 mPa if higher or a negative value when engine not running this indicates problem with rail oil pressure sensor which is a common problem.

2001 izuzu tropper 3000 wont start... Injectors replaced, 12V ok on the injectors, Can it be anything related with the oil pressure on the rail (injectors)?

oil viscosity is very important, and yes if the rail oil pressure sensor is not reading correctly at least 3 to 5 Mpa while cranking the injectors will not be turned on by the engine ecu. if you can get a scan tool look at rail oil pressure sensor reading just after cranking it should drop to 0 to 0.5 Mpa if any different its no good, also check for oil leaking out of main injector harness connector near engine oil dip stick if oil leaking out of connector this pressure switch which is in oil rail under rocker cover is no good and injector harness needs replacing this is very common.

Can i replace a 3.0litres diesel turbo engine from a 2002 isuzu trooper with a 3.1litres diesel turbo engine. And if possible how can this be done?

Yes you can . Requires some skills but the only bits that dont work after are the speedo and the rev counter .

These can be made to work but its a bit tricky ..

I would like to buy a 2000 trooper and have found one i like. I am concerned about talk of injector faults and huge bills. Today a main dealer advised against buying a trooper with the 3l diesel engine. Is...

The 3.0 is getting on a bit now but they are good value still.
Injectors are still being covered under warranty by Isuzu by good dealers free of charge .
If you buy one you need a good  local garage service them properly  to the hand book specs .
We have 5 !  and my other half's did 206000 miles (1998 model) before the injectors gave trouble and Isuzu still fixed the engine free .

I pass on what I have learnt on here ,another good source to read about them is www.itocuk.co.uk

My Isuzu Trooper 2004 4JX1 turbo just underwent a general engine overhaul. Its cranking but will not start. All electricals are ok. Does the PCM needed to be reset for it to start?

The ECU will be fine with a engine rebuild but the 4JX takes a bit longer to start if all the injector oil paths are empty - can be up to 5 or 6 mins of 20 second cranking bursts.
Also if you rebuilt due to diesel in the oil from bad injectors the control valve for the injector oil pressure may be faulty so it wont start.

1999 trooper 4JX1 fuel black

engine oil leaking past injector O rings and going into fuel return hose back to tank contaminates tank. if recall done are O rings ok? can put clear plastic tube on return fitting in rear of head to see if black (contaminated with oil) or air leaks, from cold start, it isnt high pressure
it could be from before or now?
