I have a 95 VW Jetta III that I just purchased. When you open the driver's door, the security alarm goes off and waited two minutues alarm stopped. Opened passenger door alarm did not go off. Then I tried starting the car and the alarm went off and car will not start. I do not have the key fob. How can I reset or disable the alarm without the key fob?
I'm not sure that two times is necessary. Just unlocking with the key should turn off the alarm system and enable the starter.I'm not sure that two times is necessary. Just unlocking with the key should turn off the alarm system and enable the starter.

Did you have an accident with this vehicle shortly before this happened ?
I have had this problem after my car was repaired by a body shop. One door latch was replaced by the VW dealer which solved the alarm problem but the battery still drained. Now they are saying it is the comfort control module.
I had the same problem. I had lost the wiring connection between the drivers door lock (where the key goes in) and the alarm. The only way to fix this was to rewire the connection.
I am not 100% sure what breaks the connection - probably wear and tear on the wire with the door opening and closing.
This has happened to me twice in the last 5 years.
If you have an after market system on your car,Yes it can be removed and your troubles probably will go.If it ias factory I would go to the dealer even if you dont want to.your jetta can not be worked on by everyone.
Go to your local junk or scrapyard and pull them yourself. The dealer charges an average of 90-100 dollars an hour. So a lot of the money they quoted you for was probably for labor
The door latch located in the door panel has a micro switch built into it assembly. It is what detects an open door. A new latch is about $150. If you could find a shop to replace it for you. You could also try buying some plastic-safe contact cleaner/lubricant and spraying the latch assembly out and opening/closing the door a few times to work it in.
I had the same problem on my 95 jetta, I had to take the door panel off and replace the lock that the wiring harness goes to. got the part from a wrecking yard, replaced it, works fine now. hope this helps.
