Ac doesn't work

AC compressor won't kick on. Used an ohm meter at the compressor and it doesn't seem to be getting any power to it. Put a new relay switch in and checked all fuses still nothing. What could it be, is there an inline fuse or some other relay switch besides the one on the distribution block.

There is a low limit switch and when the Freon is too low, it opens and wont let the compressor come on.

SOURCE: 2001 PT Cruiser - blower and power windows stopped

Haven.t fixed it yet, but there is a bad wire or loose connection in a group of wires located behind the fuse panel. In the group of wires one of them is apparently the problem. When I move the wires the blower motor and power windows work, but they eventually stop again. I haven't had time to find and fix the exact wire that's the problem yet, it's not an area that I can easily get to!

SOURCE: AC stops working, Works when I hit the control panel

Sounds like you have a short somewhere, or a module going bad. IF you hit the unit, and it starts working, it is most likely a bad control module.

Need help with ac comperssor on 1999 saab 9 3 turbo, tried recharging and the compessor just wont kick on. Any suggestions on where to start

I would check the fuses first. After you confirm the fuses are good, I’d unplug the compressor and turn on the ac inside the car. With a test light or voltmeter, one of the wires should have positive voltage. Assuming the climate control unit inside the car is working correctly. If one has power when u switch it on inside and then when U turn it off the wire that had power doesn’t anymore then check to make sure the other wire is grounded. If it is the compressor is bad. Now if you don’t have enough Freon in the car it won’t kick on. The low pressure switch will prevent it from kicking on. Does your fans kick on when you turn on the ac inside? You can take and apply power to the compressor with a jumper wire from the positive terminal
On the battery and hook it to the positive wire on the compressor. If the compressor kicks on it’s good and it’s not the compressor.

AC compressor not kicking in regassed, changed pressure switch too

Might want to check the clutch winding itself...

Look closely at the compressor for a wire going into the pulley side... Check for battery on that wire ...

There might be a power problem getting to that point
(use fuse panel detail to locate & check fuse)

or...
The clutch winding itself could have failed...
Measure for ground... with a volt-ohm meter...
or use a test battery to activate (locks to drive belt).

Happy hunting... be cool.

2003 mini cooper AC compressor doesn't run

The compressor will last a lot longer. Your problem is a very slow Freon/refrigerant leak from when the compressor was replaced. If you wish, you could put in a canister or 2 of refrigerant from an auto parts store, as a kit with the re-fill line, to make it work for a while. But eventually you're going to want someone to find that leak and repair it. Best of luck my friend.

Compressor and fans do not turn on until rev engine

I passed this question the first time I read it, so I will take a stab at it now.
The fans don't come on until the compressor has pumped the freon pressure up to say 150 or 200 psi. And the compressor clutch has to have voltage to engage the clutch.
I wonder if the clutch is going and needs 14 volts instead of 12 to engage ? Or the relay that powers the clutch ?
Speeding up the engine would increase voltage from the alternator.
This is assuming the serpentine belt is tight and everything else is working correctly.
I think I would swap the relay with another and put a meter on that circuit to the ac clutch to see what it takes to engage it.

2001 ford taurus air conditioer doesnt cycle with the computer but works fine with a jumper wire

check the relay(s), it may have bad contacts, there is more than one as you radiator fan should turn on when the AC clutch is activated. you'll need a VOM (Volt Ohm Meter) and a power source to check. there should be a diagram on the relay showing the pin connections for coil, common, and outputs. run continuity checks from common to outputs.

(you say it works great when jumped, so iam guessing that its not a too low or too high on freon)

I have a 02 lincoln ls . the air conditiong is not working . i took it to a local shop they check the compressor, fuses, relays, pressure swithches, all is checcking out good. They jump the compressor...

YOU COULD HAVE OPEN OR SHORT IN THE BLACK YELLOW WIRE GOING TO AC COMPRESSOR CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH. CHECK FOR A SHORT OR OPEN IN RED YELLOW WIRES AT THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH. USE VOLT METER AND CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT BOTH SWITCHES. PROBLEM COULD BE IN THE EATC MODULE THAT SEND POWER TO PURPLE WIRE THAT FEEDS THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH AND AC CLUTCH CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH THEN FEEDS THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH SOLENOID.
