1.)heater core restricted-check both heater hoses coming from the heater core if one is cold your heater core is restricted and you will need to flush the core.
2.)Your air mix door actuator in the vehicle is inoperative and you will need to replace it.It is located on the bottom of the heater case in the center of the vehicle. It mounts straight up with a couple bolts.

1999 chevy silverado actuator door is stuck blowing heat instead of cold air

It is likely that you'll need to replace the temp door actuator, more likely it is bad than the temp control.

My chevy silverado 1500 work truck a/c unit works when it wants to and blows cold and hot at differant times on different side and you havant touched a single knob or button???

sounds as if the HVAC control module is going bad.the control module is in the control head in the dash. may want to check for fault codes stored in the module first.

My truck dosnt get hot in the cab blows warm cool air!

I would check your heater control valve, that, or the core itself being bad, are the two most common problems I've had with Chevys.

2000 Chevy Silverado 4X4 - Heater isn't blowing hot air

No your thermostat is stuck open which will not hurt the engine. but needs to be replaced, the thermostat is what allows the engine get up to operating temp. before allowing water to flow through the radiator and when it is stuck open it doesnt allow the engine to reach operating temp. so the heater never gets hot. I hope that helps you out.
