If your battery has died or you have had it changed radio could be locked. if this has not happend check the radio accesory fuses on fuse panel. the owners manual can help you locate it. if all the fuses are fine you will have to have the radio/nav unit serviced.

Im trying to install a boss stero but its not getting any power to turn on. What wires go where. Its in a 08 Ford Escape

You'll have to run power to it from a wire that comes on with key on. I run it from the A/C controller. Splice it in.

check where you disconnected the wires from as you probably dislogded the power wire for the starter solenoid.

I need to know which wire is the hot wire, going from the car to the car stero

red wires in auto electrics is the nominal power wire. Use a circuit light tester and if it comes on when the ignition switch is on, or in the accessories position then that is the hot (power )wire.

I am doing a stero in a 2001 silverado with a 6.6l disel and there are 3 wires on the back of the factory stero the after market stero only have one will i need to wire the other 2 in

The best thing to do is use a factory wire adapter. The main wires you need to worry about are power, battery memory, ground and speaker wires. If you have a power antenna you will need to wire in the remote (normally blue or light blue). The only other wire should be an orange wire for the dimmer on the radio face. This one is not necessary for normal operation. Make sure you have the main 11 wires wired in. Ignition, battery, ground and the 8 speaker wires.

Had dead battery in 2002 honda civic got jump now word CODE in radio display

try disconecting the positive terminal of the batery for sevral minets (5-10) this will reset the brain box memory for the stero aswell as for the car it self.

what caused the batery to go dead in the first place?
things that i can think of :
1) left headlights on over night
2) bad altenator not charging batery
3) battery is old and not taking a charge anymore
4) new stero installed incorectly and drainging the batery
have you resently installed a new stero or amplifyer?
is the turn key igntion system hooked into the amp/stero antena lead so that thy are shut of when the ignition is?
of note: new streo >theres a blue wire marked ant that goes to the amplifyer if not there you need to find the orange accsesory wire coming from the turn key igntion>check for power when ignition is in the on & off states could be yellow in some cars but is usaly orange if this wire has on and of state controled by the turn key igntion this would be the wire to tap into for the amplyfire and the radio main power
check your radio's instaltion guide for code errors
its posible that when hooking up the jump it was done incorectly and blew up the radio
ie postive and negative where fliped
hope this helped :)

ELECTRICAL PROBLEM

The prob seems like you have connected the power to your stero from the wrong place. You cut into live a wire for the power, this should be connected at the ACC on your fuse panel. Also make sure you stero has a good ground! Frankster016
