Call your local auto parts store(s). Ask if the can perform an OBD2 check. Most auto parts stores that can, will do this for free. The print out will identify problem areas. However, it sounds like a MAF sensor in your case.

this is a catalyst efficiency code meaning your cars computer has indicated a problem with the flow of your catalytic converter located just after the exaust manifold i the exaust system, usally these codes are triggerd by a bad or "lazy" oxygen or O2 sensor, try replacing your 02 sensors if they have some miles on them and this may cure the problem, after the repair you will need to have the check engine light cleared by a shop or auto parts store

WELL YOU NEED A 1998 TO 2002 CHILTON IMPORT CAR REPAIR MANUAL.OR GO ON LINE TO ALLDATA DIY.COM AUTO REPAIR.IT WILL HAVE DIAGRAM OF ALL THE TURBOCHARGER LAYOUT.

The Primary o2 is straightforward. Once youre under the car you will see it at the bottom of the exahsut manifold . The plug will be nearby. you will need an 02 sensor socket to remove it and it may be a bit tough. The secondary 02 is a little harder since part of the wiring runs under the passenger side carpet. Most auto parts stores such and advance auto parts and autozone sell repair manuals. I prefer the Haynes manuel wich has the wireing diagrams printed in the back of the book and acuratley tell each color code

dont waste your time getting o2 sensors from ebay.
the best thiong to do is get the original equipment for the cheapest price you can find at autozone or advance auto or o reillys or someplace local to you.
see if you think you can find it on the exaust system and take it out yourself.
it is a very easy do it yourselfer if you have the right size wrench and the right part.
just unplug it first then loosen it.
dont plug the new one in untill you have turned the new one all the way in nice and snuggly.
then plug in.have autozone reset the codes for you for free also.you can do this i know you can.

CCA is not as important as standby amp hours in your location. The bigger the battery the better when dealing with large vehicals with a lot of electrical demand.

just the exaust isnt going to make a huge difference but it will make some it all depends on how much money you are willing to spend
you could get new headers and run mandrel bent 3inch pipe all the way back using a flow through muffler (which one depends on what type of sound you want)
