Fuel pump runs continously with ignition on, cannot communicate with scanner. no spark, no injector pulse, security light goes of as usual when ignition is switched on. have replaced crank sensor, have had ecu & immobiliser checked out, thank you laurie

Does the starter motor crank the engine OK?
If so, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs, gasoline engine. Also, check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse.
Sometimes when battery voltage is lost, it can effect your security system. If that is the problem, you may need a scanner that can communicate with security system in order to fix. Just my opinion.
did you check the fuel pressure pump on the frame rail for power and ground? have you verified no ignition spark to the spark plugs? have you checked for fire from the coil to the distributor cap? does the check engine light come on when you turn the key on? have you check for injector pulse and power at the fuel injectors? if the fuel pump won't come on and you have no ignition fire and no injector pulse, all of these systems are triggered by the ECM.
does the word security stays flashing after you crank the engine? if it does vehicle has a problem with the passlock 2 system which is a factory installed anti-theft system. when faulty which is too common on those year GM models, vehicle will start and run for 2 or 3 seconds and die out. follow this procedure: 1) locate yellow 20ga. wire running out of steering column which will run along with heavier gauge wires. correct wire will be thin compared to the main ignition wires. 2) cut wire and connect an in line toggle switch and leave in on position. 3) put key in ignition and move forward and leave it that way for approximate 15 min. or until security light goes out. 4) as soon as light goes out vehicle should start. if it does not crank engine again until it starts. 5). when engine starts flip toggle switch to the off position then security light will come on. done. passlock system is bypassed. security light will stay on constant but vehicle will no longer leave you stranded.
does it run 2 to 3 seconds? does the scurity light blinks? if yes leave the switch on after running 2-3 second wait till security light stops blinking then start if light still blinks you have wiring problem. if light just stay on you have spark and fuel check injactor pulse.always remember if you have good spark ,good fuel pressure and injector pulse car should start
