My boyfriend and i just baught a used car but the radio has an anti theft code on it and we were going to be charged 56 dollars by going to a dealership can you help?
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE CODE AND INSTRUCTIONS TO UNLOCKING THE CAR STEREO YOURSELF?DOES ANYONE KNOW THE CODE AND INSTRUCTIONS TO UNLOCKING THE CAR STEREO YOURSELF?
You can't post conmments that contain an email address.
The code can ONLY be entered by a PROPER scan tool. The radio thinks u're trying to steal it and therefore won't work. Dealers gotcha by the balls here.

Its sounds like the anti theft system has failed. This is very common in GM cars. This has happened to me so I know your frustration. There is a site that has a lot of information on how to bypass/ permanently fix it. You can actually do it yourself for far less then what a mechanic would charge. Hope this helps!
Hi,,my name is Keith,,and you can call a Pontiac Dealership..and you will have to give them your V.I.N. number and they will look it up..your car has its very own code ..and they will do this for free..i hope this helps
If you bought the car used, you will have to contact the dealer or person that sold it to you. They have set a 4 digit code that must be used to clear the radio.
Good luck, let me know.
Regards,
if the vehicle starts then stops and the anti-theft light is flahing you may need to re-set the pass-key system to do this you will need to atempt to start the vehicle and when it stalls leave the key in that position and watch the anti-theft light. it should flash on and off for about 5 to 10 minutes. when it stops flahing turn the ignition to off then try to restart your vehicle
you have to call the pontiac dealer parts dept and he will tell you how to get the code you may have to prove ownership for the car because the anti-theft is activated at this time
