Courtesy lights don't work

96 LE. The courtesy lights have quit working. Even when manually switched on, the lights do not come on. Van recognizes door is open (dings when door is open). New switch unit in dash controlling lights and dimmer. Fuses not blown, Relay working properly. Other interior dome lights above center console and middle chairs work.

Can't make sense of this. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You will need to test the Body Control Module, it controls the lights.

96 tahoe keeps blowin the dash ,parking and courtesy door lights fuse

That;s fuse #4 check brake switch to ignition do you have curse control that will also come into play .
What you really need are the factory manuals and a meter or test light to track this down .
A company called HELM .COM prints most factory manuals for most vehicles .50 to 100 dollars you need them to fix especially a 96 Chevy that's the first year OBD 2 they tend to have design problems and are hard to work on .

Thw rear ac unit in 96 villager van doesn't work, light don't even come on can you please help

If it is low on freon it won't come on. If the blower is not working it could be the fan or switch.

Sounds like a problem with the sensor in the driver's door latch.

I have a 2001 GMC Savana full size van the Courtesy lights don't work ,

I would acquire an ohm meter, and check the circuit for a short to ground and trace it to the point of origin. If there are aftermarket accessories/utilities installed, then I would start there.

I am unable to turn off door courtesy lights even after disconnecting lift gate ajar switch. Does new switch have to be in place to turn off lights?

I haven't picked up the part yet but it should be in tomorrow. According to a tech update from Chrysler in 1997, the rear hatch door has a door ajar switch in the handle and for, at least, the 95's and 96' switch;s were getting wet and corroding at the contacts. Unless this switch sends a signal to the computer, telling it that the door is closed, the courtesy lights stay on and drain the battery.
I hope that this part will fix the problem and I will let you know how it came out. I'll have to replace the battery also.
