Where to put power steering fluid for 2002 chevy venture. Is the dipstick red? I can't find the reservoir to fill????

Look in engine bay for fluid reservoirs, each should have a sybol / picture on the top of what each is for, thus steering fluid reservoir should have a steering wheel on it. Hope this helps

Place the vehicle in park or neutral with the emergency brake. Let the engine idle. Raise the hood and remove the cap on the power steering pump reservoir. The cap will have a plastic dipstick on the end of it. Wipe the dipstick portion with a rag and screw it back down on the reservoir. Unscrew the lid and check the level indicated on a marked scale on the dipstick. The level should read at the top "Hot" mark. Low fluid level will cause the pump to whine. Fill to the appropriate level and listen for noise.
Inspect the condition of the power steering fluid with the cap off the reservoir. It should be translucent red and slightly thick to the touch. Brown, black or sudsy-looking fluid indicates contamination. Power steering fluid that has lost its viscosity (thickness) cannot properly lubricate the seals, bearings and vanes inside the pump, which will cause a high-pitched whine or squealing noise. If the fluid feels gritty between the fingers, it means rust, metal shavings and dirt has entered the reservoir.
Use a slot screwdriver to loosen the low-pressure rubber hose clamp on the bottom side of the power steering pump reservoir. Catch any drippings in a pan. Loosen the high-pressure metallic line nut on the power steering pump body with a fuel line wrench. Let the fluid drain into a pan. Remove the reservoir cap and use a used turkey baster to suck out all of the power steering fluid. Clean the inside of the reservoir with a rag wrapped around a screwdriver.
Reconnect the rubber low-pressure side hose and tighten the clamp with a slot screwdriver. Screw the metallic line nut on by hand and finish tightening it with a fuel line wrench. Fill the reservoir with new (manufacturer's recommended) power steering fluid to the top mark. Start the engine and listen for noise.
Test the tension and condition of the serpentine belt, or the individual power steering belt. The belt should not be cracked or contaminated with oil or power steering fluid. Clean the belt with alcohol. Adjust the (individual) belt for tension, using an end wrench to loosen the adjusting bolt, and a socket and wrench to slightly loosen the pump mounting bolts. Pry the pump outward with a screwdriver to tighten the slack in the belt. Tighten the adjusting bolt with an end wrench. Tighten the mounting bolts with a socket and wrench.

the dipstick is located near the firewall, it shold have a red handle on it. the power stearing is located near the belt on the front of engine on driver side look at the pullys one of them is the pump with the reservoir on it

The power steering reservoir has a dipstick attached to the cap you take off to fill the reservoir, it is written on the dipstick what level is normal. Low fluid will not cause any play in the steering worn parts like tie rod ends and worn steering gear boxes will.

there is a belt on the front of the engine that drives the various items like alternator, water pump, air conditioner and power steering pump-the power steering pump is the only accessory that has a reservior with a cap on it-look for it and turn the cap counter clockwise, it has a small dipstick on it. fill the reservior to the full level using the dipstick.

Open the hood and find the reservoir for the power-steering fluid. It will probably be labeled on the cap. If not, look near the belts for a pulley-driven pump with a plastic or metal reservoir on top.

Open the cap. It may unscrew or pop off.

Check the fluid level (see illustration in Step 2). If the reservoir is made of clear plastic, look for full and low indicator lines on the outside. The cap will have a small dipstick attached if the reservoir isn't see-through. Wipe the dipstick clean with a rag and put the cap back on. Remove the cap and check the level on the dipstick. Your car may have both full hot and full cold indicators, as the fluid level will vary depending on whether the engine is cold or hot.

Add power-steering fluid as needed, using a funnel to avoid spilling. If the engine is hot, fill to the hot line. If the engine is cold, fill to the cold line.

Put the reservoir cap back on.

Steps:
Step 1:Apply the parking brake and place the transmission in "Park" (automatic) or "Neutral" (manual).
Step 2:Check the level of the steering fluid in the reservoir. If your car is equipped with a see-through plastic tank, compare the level with the markings on the side the container. Other systems are equipped with a dipstick inside a plastic tube, or have a dipstick mounted on the reservoir cap.
Step 3:Pull the dipstick or remove the reservoir cap, and wipe the dipstick with a clean shop rag. Insert the dipstick or replace the cap and remove it again to check the fluid level.
Step 4:
Make sure the level is within the crosshatched area on the dipstick or at the "Full" mark. If necessary, add steering fluid.
Step 5:
Place a small funnel or a funnel with a flexible hose on the dipstick tube or reservoir opening to add fluid.

Power steering fluid and other fluids read at different levels when warm instead of cool. Locate the power steering fluid reservoir. It is located under the hood of your Toyota Corolla on the passenger side next to the engine. The reservoir is connected to the power steering pump. Remove the cap and use the dipstick to check the fluid level. For the most accurate reading, clean off the dipstick with a rag first, then re-insert and remove for the fresh reading.
