MY 1989 nissan pickup Z24i has vibration issues at around 2400 rpm in every gear. Especially when it is warm it will vibrate at that motor RPM and then when I pass that rpm the vibration goes away. The vibration causes the motor speed to flutter at 2400 rpm when I shift gears. Does this sound like a timing chain issue or an issues with a leaking exhaust system?

Timing or a balance issue. Make sure the harmonic balancer it tight to the crank. Also make sure the clutch and pressure plate are tight.

SOURCE: gear shift

Do you hear a clicking sound coming from the shifter area everytime you hit the brake pedal, while the vehicle is is "P" park position?? There should be a clicking sound right by the shifter. That's the shifter lock solenoid. If that's not clicking you will not get the car out of park. Let me know what you found.

Check your intake and exhaust modules. I have a 1987 D21 and had the same problem (if I understand your post). I replaced the modules located behind the driver side headlights and it fixed the problem. Good luck! I hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1984 s10 2.8 manual trans. flywheel causes engine to vibrate

no should be same engine. check your engine mounts and tranny mount. how bad a vibration? sometimes after installing engine the trans gets shifted around and if mount was worn it will allow it to hit crossmeber and vibrate.

My 95 rodeo idles ok but when I put it in gear it starts to vibrate. what could this be?

What is the RPM while in gear? Too low and it will vibrate. Also check for weak/broken motor mounts which will cause a vibration in gear

My car makes a droning or humming sound around 2000 rpm along with vibration but it goes away as soon as I increase the speed or come to a stop.

could be the timing belt tensioner. with the timing casing removed place a socket extension bar on some metal then to your ear as it will help you locate the noise. be careful tho. failing that big end shells i would check. hope this helps

Bad vibration when in gear but idle speed

I'm not sure exactly which vehicle you have so I'll try to be genera yet as specific as possible to help you determine the problem. I'm assuming here its a Gas Fuel engine.

1.) if its a carburetor type engine, You may need to adjust the RPM to increase or lower the Idle. Its commonly called the Ideal screw and adjust the air fuel ratio to stabilize the engine fuel mixture to increase the RPM.. its found on the Carburetor.

2.) ts fuel injected you will need to adjust the throttle body position to archive the same effect.

if it has a distributor , you can turn the distributor as well to adjust the RPM.

rough idling is usually caused by Mounts, since you changed yours the next most likely issue is the RPM itself or idling speed / rpm. If its to low you ill have that issue.

other possible cause is the distributor points (if any).. bad plugs, bad plug wires.. but those cause other issues while driving as well.

My v6 camaro vibrates pretty bad when I am around 2,000-3,000 rpm then goes away after I pass the 3,000 mark. It does it in every gear. It vibrates the whole car, i don't think its a motor mount problem...

Is it a standard trans?
If so,does it does the vibration (with the trans in gear and your foot holding the clutch pedal down) disappear or is reduced?
If it is better then the clutch disk may be damaged.
