Hi out there...I have a 2000 Volvo S70 which has 96K miles and up until a month ago was running fine. Lately (though intermittent), I have problems starting the car. It sounds like it usually has sounded and like the ngine is engaged, but then it cuts off. Sometimes it will start after the secon try, and sometimes it does not happen again for a week. Yesterday, it took me 10 tries to get the car to start. Any suggestions?
Hey Lindypop,
If you have another ignition key, I would suggest trying that key and see if the problem persists. The key has a micro-chip in them that allows the key to work in your vehicle only, and you may be having a problem with one of your keys.
If this is the case, a fault will be stored in the engine computer. It will be a good idea to check those codes and address them as necessary, it may help to avoid getting stranded.
Good Luck!
