Manufacturerscar alarm When I lock the car and set the alarm, after about an hour the alarm goes off. If I switch it off with the remote it will reset itself and again an hour later it goes off. The only way to stop this is to switch off the alarm open and close several doors then leave the car unlocked and with no alarm.

My alarm is triggered when I leave the windows down a bit. There's a motion sensor for the interior of the car (I think it's thermal), so when a breeze blows cool outside air through the car's hot interior, it triggers. The interior sensor can be turned off by pressing the button just behind the driver's door and in front of the rear door. Try turning that off and see if it makes a difference. My 2000 Chrysler LHS alarm goes off hours after locking doors either manually or with remote. Unlocking the driver or passenger door will shut it off but how do I correct this problem?

I do not know how to "fix" the problem to make it right, but you can disable the alarm through the relay box or fuse box. You'll lose the alarm, but can lock the car. Several may be labeled "Alarm and... try to find one that is the alarm alone or something significant, if possible. Not an answer, just an Idea.

Locks set off alarm

Inside the door is a door switch that is called the tamper switch or door ajar switch, each door has one, it may be defective, it is the Ford designed switch and they have had problems. To confirm the next time the system goes off, unlock and lock the passenger door if it has a lock, my new car doesn't and I know many makes don't have any passenger side door lock cylinder. If doing that shuts of the security system the switch is surely defective or the wiring to it is damaged.

Lock car with remote, walk away, alarm goes off. put car in garage locked, 4 hours later alarm starts

Sounds like the sensitivity is set to high. The dealership should be able to adjust that for free. Hope this helps

I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee. the alarm goes off whenever i open the door if the vehicle has been locked the alarm stops when i start the vehicle i only have a key, no remote any ideas on how to fix...

If ithe alarm is factory when they will have to reset the alarm module with a scanner. If the alarm if aftermarket go to the control module and see if it has a reset button. FOBs (remote) can reset alarm. You Jeep is always set for break-in mode. The FOB sets this when ever the FOB is used to lock the doors. May be bad alarm module - Sorry - Good luck

Check if the shock sensor is too sensitive, check if the door pin switches are damaged and wire connection.

New battery, can't reset alarm

remove the alarm, their might be a passive switch on the alarm to turn it off with a special key,if you dont have the key break the lock so you can turn it off or try to open case of alarm and look at wires and then dertimine which ones to join or break, every alarm inside is different so you will have to work it out.
