Not the EGR. Pump is definitely out of time and too much fuel makes it smoke like that and you lose power because the engine is flooding with fuel and it just cant burn it quick enough. Makes sense, huh.

it`s the oxygen sensor
thats why the car is mix fuel/air in wrong ratio generating unburned fuel in form of black smoke and check lights on

My main turbo hose came off the intercooler 2 weeks ago due to a corroded hose clip, this was replaced, now when i am travelling on a motorway at a constant 70mph, I lose power, when i accelerate the car...

It is probably breader valve. Do you have a change in oil consumption and olso check the sump compresion.

My 1995 Lantera has started revving itself for no reason, normally when youve dropped speed or waiting to turn, plus it has now started losing power, so I have to go down gears and wait for it to pick up...

it might be the throttle position sensor (tps) its located on the throttle body

most likely you have a problem with your vacuum system. the check engine light is mainly for emission problems. it could the MAS airflow sensor as well though...

1994 AWD Astro van overheated, then lost ALL power

it seems that the engine blew. the rings, rod bearings, main bearing etc. Sorry but it sounds like that. Especially the smoking at the exhaust. take it back to the one who sold it to you.If possible.

MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR THERE ABOUT £6O WHEN THEY PLAY UP THE CAR WONT IDLE PROPERLY AND POOR RUNNING/HESITATES BEFORE IT PICKS UP AGAIN, NOT SURE ON THE BLACK SMOKE THOUGH, GOOD LUCK .
