I would change out the transmission fluid and put some transmission additives in there, see how the transmission shifts after that. Worse case have the transmission rebuilt.

The struts are about $150 apiece plus labor. If the car runs fine besides those two problems I would fix it and keep it, it's alot cheaper than a car payment.
