Yesterday, I was parked with the car on, suddenly started to reheat and the AC shuts off, but the fan continues blowing. I took it to nearest mechanics and they couln't find any leaks, or issues. I have been having the Service Engine light on for the last week and they said I needed to replace the knock sensor, gas cap and evap. canister. Confused. Please help.
I have never heard of a knock sensor, the engine light on is usually do to a fuel air problem such has o2 sensors gas caps not sealing right or mass air flow sensors, the a/c problem sounds like if there are no leaks in system then your high low sensors one of them could have failed or your system froze up and needs to thaw if it froze let sit you will see a puddle of water on ground passenger side under vehicle close to engine this is from the evaporator if it froze up it will not allow air flow to go through it therefore you will get only heat turn heater on this will help thaw the evaporator quicker this freezing is usually due to an overcharged system or a system that is contaminated and needs flushed vacuemed and recharged.
I had the same problem recently, but gave me 2 codes knock sensor (which will not activate the service light as i found around)
and gave me the air flow mass sensor. took it out clean it,
change the air filter, with a good one, vacum the inside of the filter holder and light went of about 2 days later.

My car is overheating, using quite a bit of fluid, service engine light is on. When I had diagnostics run, they said the knock sensor was out. How can I reset it?
